BEST MUSICAL
Curtains
Grey Gardens
Mary Poppins
Spring Awakening

WANT: I’m torn, honestly. I love Spring Awakening, but it’s a tie between that and Grey Gardens.
WILL: I think Spring Awakening will win. And I won’t be disappointed at all. The haters will, but that’s okay.

Now, before you all attack me. I love Spring Awakening; I think it’s a very well put together show. Sure the subject matter is a little bit juvenile and some of the lyrics are not the best - BUT I really love the show.

I love Curtains too, but I don’t think it will win.

Grey Gardens is excellent.

So yeah, I’m torn.

BEST REVIVAL OF A MUSICAL
The Apple Tree
A Chorus Line
Company
110 in the Shade

WANT: Company
WILL: A Chorus Line

You all know how I feel about COMPANY. I honestly don’t think it gets the proper appreciation that it deserves. The cast recording is fun, but it is absolutely no comparison the seeing that show live. The show - to me - was flawless. I hope it wins, but I don’t think it will.

110 shade = me very excited.

ACL, eh, I’m not that big of a fan. Granted I like it, and yeah, it’s a “classic” but I think Company is a hell of a lot better. (and the fangirls attack me)

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A LEADING ACTOR IN A MUSICAL
Michael Cerveris, LoveMusik
Raúl Esparza, Company
Jonathan Groff, Spring Awakening
Gavin Lee, Mary Poppins
David Hyde Pierce, Curtains

WANT: Raul Esparza
WILL: Raul Esparza

Love Michael, I’ve got nothing bad to say about him. It really is a shame he didn’t win for Sweeney last year.

I like Jon Groff, but I say give him a few years and lets see what he’s got.

Love David Hyde Pierce, but I don’t think (personally) the chances of him winning aren't that high (And Jenny stabs me haha)

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST:

Raul Esparza, I think he’s long overdue for an award, and I know that’s no excuse to give him one this year, but he is fucking fabulous in this role. I was in tears (and no, not because it was OMGRAULESPARZAIS10METRESAWAYFROMME) because he (imo) captures Bobby perfectly.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A LEADING ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL
Laura Bell Bundy, Legally Blonde The Musical
Christine Ebersole, Grey Gardens
Audra McDonald, 110 in the Shade
Debra Monk, Curtains
Donna Murphy, LoveMusik

WANT: Christine Ebersole
WILL: Christine Ebersole

I don’t really have much to argue about here, Christine Ebersole better fucking win. Or I have lost faith in the Tony’s.

…Though, Audra is like a goddess or something.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A FEATURED ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL
Charlotte d’Amboise, A Chorus Line
Rebecca Luker, Mary Poppins
Orfeh, Legally Blonde The Musical
Mary Louise Wilson, Grey Gardens
Karen Ziemba, Curtains

WANT: Karen Ziemba
WILL: Mary Louise Wilson

I can’t stand Charlotte d’Amboise, but that’s just me.

I love Mary Louis, but I think I like Karen a little bit more. So my fingers are crossed for her. :)

BEST PERFORMANCE BY A FEATURED ACTOR IN A MUSICAL
Brooks Ashmanskas, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me
Christian Borle, Legally Blonde The Musical
John Cullum, 110 in the Shade
John Gallagher, Jr., Spring Awakening
David Pittu, LoveMusik

WANT: J. Gallagher Jr.
WILL: I say it's about fair game.

If Spring Awakening wins only one thing, I want him to win. For me, he made the show - and no it’s not because he’s “hot”.

BRING ON THE WRATH.
