My life in bit phrases, just to get caught up so I can begin *real* posts again...
It's February, and my last semester at NYU.
It's been snowing pretty consistently since I arrived back here 20 days ago.
My sister was here for a week, it was fantastic. We saw The Little Mermaid on broadway and Spring Awakening the night before it closed. We hit up Central Park, the 5th avenue shops, Williamsburg in Brooklyn, South Street Seaport, Dylan's Candy Bar, Museum of Natural History, Alice's Tea Cup, did a lot of East/West Village exploring among other things. The big bummer was that it was FREEZING cold the whole time she was here, like less than 10 degrees, so we had to retreat inside on many an occasion. Still, it was a blast having her out here. I wish she would come back.
Colleen was also her for a few days! She only stayed with me one night, and the rest of the time was spent at her friends' parents' apartment (or something like that). I don't blame her - huge upper west side apartment versus Brooklyn. Me, I'd take the BK over the UWS, but she was much closer to Times Square and all the Broadway stuff she wanted to do so it made much more sense. Colleen, Simone and I hung out for a few days, and it was wonderful.
Classes are going alright so far. Law and Society, Civil Liberties, Immigration and Civilization in Europe and the US, and Advanced Reporting: Reporting the Cutting Edge. I won't bore you with the details, but I like everything. Especially my politics classes, because I hated the ones that I took last semester.
Started my new internship at Wired magazine. I love it. It's such a different feel from Details, especially because I'm doing PR work instead of editorial. While I think my career lies within the editorial field, doing PR is really diversifying my resume. I actually get to write stuff, which is awesome. True, it's only press releases, but anything helps. 4 Times Square is intimidating though... mostly because everyone is dressed to the nines and I don't have the money or fashion sense to keep up. I'm trying though!
Sorority life is good/busy.
I had to quit my choir. Big sad face. I had too much on my plate last semester and almost failed a class (but I didn't! And ended up with a B-!) so I cut some stuff out to make room for school.
I think that's about it. Consider yourself summed up.
