Goodbye Green

May 05, 2009 09:41

Apparently our neighbors, 20-somethings with two kids, have decided that having hedges replace fences isn't "modern" enough and complained.

So now our landlord is out there ripping them out of the ground and taking them away, and it makes me sick to my stomach to even hear it being done. It was a major selling point for us, to be surrounded by so much green. But, always the minority, I will have to make do with pressed-wood "privacy fence". The sun will never see our yard again, and so much for our little garden, as well. I just hope he doesn't take the spruces and our little tulips with them.

...Their daughters, and I suppose that's some excuse as to why this is being done, used to love hiding underneath between our houses. A lot of the magic just got sucked out of this place.

I just want to scream, and doubly so for how "ridiculous" it would look if I did so. I'm tempted to go somewhere else while it's being done, but our driveway is now blocked as well.

Dammit.
