Welcome
by Anna Jiongco

So this is the first entry in this magazine-inspired journal. I'll just give a brief overview of what will be presented in this journal. In some days, poetry will be posted along with miscellaneous pictures. Every so often, I'll post up my thoughts upon an array of subjects: psychology, society, art, a particular band, etc. In other days, it will just be pictures with tiny captions. Most pictures will actually be of me and my misadventures with the ones I love. And I'd love to share those to the world because t h e y are my world. I'll have family photos as well. And random pictures of course. There will be a lot of proverbs, quotes, lyrics, etc. as well that I'll end up posting that I want for people to analyze and respond to. I want there to be as much interaction as possible-- amongst myself as well as with other readers. Keep in mind that this is a friendly journal. Anything that revolves outside this journal shall remain O U T S I D E this journal. And please note to read with an O P E N mind. Thanks.

Now here is a sample of what a typical le_gazette entry will be like(though there is honestly no such thing):

The only thing a man can't control--whether the source of his power is his money, his muscle, or just being a man in a man's world-- has got to be the most frightening thing he can conceive of. And love is surely the wildest card life can deal to you: O.J. Simpson could not get Nicole under his control until he sliced her head off; all the rhinestones in Tennessee could not keep Priscilla at Graceland, even if Elvis was the King; and Bob Dylan could write "You're A Big Girl Now' and "If You see Her, say Hello" for his wife, Sarah, but the most beautiful and melancholy love songs that he could come up with could not save his marriage.
Love does not respond to the imperatives of the rest of life. Love is a bitch. - Elizabeth Wurtzel, "Bitch"

Now how is that for thought?
