Days are good. Sagramore has an unofficial puppy half-grown mongrel, and even though the coffee is almost entirely gone he is still in pretty good spirits, especially with August almost over and the promise of autumn on its way. And--well. As a result, he is in the kitchens, doing the responsible thing and washing some dishes, which we promise

Ada has not quite found her niche when it comes to household chores, so her entrance into the kitchen is doubtless in search of something. She glances at Sagramore and a little laugh escapes, though she claps her hand at once over her mouth and looks down, blushing brightly.

He looks over at her and laughs. "Yes, yes, I know, I'm well aware."

[dearcousin]

"K-know what, sir?"

[le_desirous]

"I look ridiculous. It's all right."

[dearcousin]

"I didn't mean to laugh."

[le_desirous]

"I was laughing. What's your name, my lady?" Good smile!

[dearcousin]

"Ada Clare, sir."

[le_desirous]

"Sagramore le Desirous." He wipes his soapy-wet hands on his trousers and bows.

She curtsies. "It is a pleasure."

[le_desirous]

"And an honour."

[dearcousin]

"It is?"

[le_desirous]

He laughs. "Well, yes, I consider myself honoured, but if you think I shouldn't--"

[dearcousin]

"Oh, I- I don't know."

[le_desirous]

"Tell me what you do here. Where are you from?"

[dearcousin]

"From England, sir. I-- I don't do much of anything, I'm afraid."

[le_desirous]

"Nothing? Truthfully? What do you do during the day?"
