Summary: When suddenly the couple randomly packed up with date plans...
Staring at the Tweety schedule board attached on his bedroom’s wall, Chinen drowns deep in his own thought. Observing each rows and columns of days in a month shown there. Because today, this afternoon to be précised, Ohno-kun said he’d like to invite him out to dinner sometime as his high school graduation present.
So now, here he is, standing in front of his schedule board with a marker on his hand, wondering of what date might be good for the said dinner.
It was then, he felt a pair of arms enclosed him from behind. Soon, he found himself swathed by a tender warmth, “What are you doing?” and quivered lightly once his boyfriend’s breath tickled against his skin as the question whispered out very close to his ear.
“Picking up a date~”
“A date?”
“For the dinner I told you earlier,” he said. “With Ohno-kun~”
“So, I see…,” Ryutaro said, now shifted his eyes to the schedule board as well. “Jaa, let me help you pick the date,” he said. “We’re packed up with works on work days, maybe you should set the date on weekend.”
“Un, weekend might be the most possible time these days…”
Then, Ryutaro placed his hand on Chinen’s right hand, where Chinen holds his marker, “Let’s see…,” and slowly moving their hands around, above the rows and columns of days. “How about this Saturday?”
Ryutaro stopped their hands above this week’s Saturday date on the schedule board.
“You know what? I think this Saturday is good,” Chinen said, smiling at Ryutaro behind him.
“That’s what I thought too…” Nevertheless, Ryutaro left his words hanging. “Too bad you already have a plan this Saturday,” he said then.
“I do?” Chinen asked, bewildered. Ryutaro’s statement engendered frowns to form on his forehead as he saw this week’s Saturday date still left unmark without any event.
“Yeap,” Ryutaro nodded. He started to move the marker on their hands to write something on the empty space of the date. “Okonomiyaki-party-with-Ryu-chan,” Ryutaro spelled each words they wrote.
“We don’t have a plan for okonomiyaki party this coming Saturday, Ryu-chan,” Chinen responded, looking amused at his boyfriend.
“But, it’s written on your schedule board,” Ryutaro said, pointing his eyebrow to the Tweety schedule board, he gave a signal to Chinen to look back at the said schedule board where this Saturday’s week date already marked with the-sudden-okonomiyaki-party.
“You just wrote it,” Chinen demurred.
“And? What’s wrong with that? The point is, it’s already written there,” Ryutaro retorted calmly. “Or you’d rather us having a fondue party again instead? I remember we’re having a lot of fun that time,” now another idea arosed in a teasing tone as Ryutaro winked an eye with a playful smile at Chinen.
Chinen blushed crimson the time heats creeping up onto his cheeks upon the memory of the fondue party they had the last time. In which their intention to have a taste of what chocolate fondue’s like when it mixed with various fruits, marshmallow, and such, ended up with them tasting each other instead.
“If it means I won’t be able to walk for the whole day after that just like the last time, no, thanks,” Chinen rejected, pouting at Ryutaro whom instantly bursted out into a little laugh at his response.
“Very well, okonomiyaki party then,” Ryutaro agreed. “Maa, you can go on Sunday, perhaps?” he suggested then, softly landed a kiss on the top of Chinen’s head while tugging the smaller guy deeper into his embrace. He shifted their hands to the date next to the previous Saturday’s date. “Won’t Sunday would be good?”
Chinen was about to approve the idea until suddenly Ryutaro halted his words out.
“If…,” he emphasized. “…only this Sunday is not our cartoon time date…”
And Chinen’s forehead wrinkled in confusion as yet again, his boyfriend came with another excuse.
“No, it’s not,” Chinen replied. “It’s not our cartoon time date this Sunday. See? It’s not even written there.”
“Ah, sou da yo,” Ryutaro nodded his head for a little while to the information given before moving their hands to write ‘cartoon time date’ on the date. “Well, I guess, it is now,” Ryutaro said ever so lightly. “Let’s have a cartoon time date this Sunday,” he said again, he pecked Chinen’s cheek before flashing a smile at his dumbfounded boyfriend.
Chinen sighed and slightly shaking his head at his boyfriend. “I’ll just go next Saturday then.”
“Oh, but I’m planning to teach you to ride a bicycle next Saturday~”
“Hai???”
“Well, didn’t you say you want me to teach you to ride a bicycle?”
“Yeah, but out of all possible days there are to do it, why has it to be next Saturday?”
“I’m ditching my baseball practice for the upcoming games next month only for this though,” Ryutaro drawled. “I’m just saying,” he added, slightly shrugging his shoulders and putting on an innocent face that left Chinen with no words to retort back.
“Fine, on the Sunday then,” Chinen yielded.
“No, we’re going to the beach next Sunday,” Ryutaro stated. And wrote ‘sand castle time’ on the next Sunday’s date.
“I’m sorry, we’re going where?” Chinen’s eyes bulged out and his eyebrows arched at his boyfriend, looking partially amused as the question hurled.
“The beach,” Ryutaro repeated. “You’re the one who keeps saying that you want to build sand castle all these past weeks, deshou? Besides, it’s been awhile since we last spent time outside together,” Ryutaro spoke softly right behind his ear. “Now let’s go do it. Just us,” he murmured, brushing his lips lightly against Chinen’s nape. Chinen could feel Ryutaro tightened his arm around his waist.
“Mou, Ryu-chan~” Chinen groaned, he hid his face onto Ryutaro’s neck. Feeling helplessly frustrated with the way Ryutaro’s warmth dispersed into him and how soothing Chinen found his voice is, they made it all the more inevitable for him to not giving in. “You’re not helping at all,” he muttered.
Ryutaro let out a soft giggle, “Just tell Ohno-kun that you’ll go with him some other time, then…”
“And when is that ‘some other time’ exactly, if you keep randomly setting up our date on every possible time?” Chinen whined, lifting up a frustrated look at Ryutaro. “Besides, it’ll be another month after next Sunday.”
“Then, tell Ohno-kun that you’ll go with him some time soon on next month,” came another flippant remarked. “Come on, let’s come to bed already, it’s getting late,” Ryutaro said while taking the marker off of Chinen’s hand and left it on the study table nearby.
“But, the dinner-” Chinen’s protest halted once Ryutaro picked him up and carried him to bed. He gently placed him onto the fluffy surface of the bed before heading to the lamp switch next to the bedroom’s door and turning it off with Chinen mutters his grumbles from the bed.
Walking back to the bed, Ryutaro trailed some feathery kisses on a little exposed skin of the side of Chinen’s waist as he climbed up on top of his boyfriend. Then left some more kisses along the fine line of Chinen’s neck, tracing the kisses very slowly down to Chinen’s shoulder. Which the action had Chinen’s stomach churned as he mewled underneath his boyfriend with his grumbling soon to be forgotten.
“J-just so you know,” Chinen tried to speak, fighting back the urge to moan once Ryutaro started to gently suck the skin of his neck.
“Hm?”
“I’m going to the dinner on the first Saturday of next month, no matter what, and you can’t-”
“No, you won’t,” Ryutaro cut in, sounds quite confidence as he stared down and drew a smirk at Chinen below him. “Because, the first Saturday of next month happens to be my baseball match. And you know how much I hate it when you’re not there…”
And by the time Ryutaro caught Chinen sighed in defeat, his lips curved a victory smile.
“You’re just not going to let me go and have dinner with Ohno-kun, are you?”
“Maa, let’s say, I’m not really fancying the idea of letting my boyfriend go and have dinner with some other guy.”
“Ohno-kun only wants to give me a graduation present, Ryu-chan,” Chinen tried to explain.
“And he’s still has many normal-not-so-killing other ways to give a graduation present than asking someone’s boyfriend out to dinner.”
“But, what should I tell Ohno-kun then? Wouldn’t it be rude if I just reject the dinner?”
“Why don’t you just ask him to buy you a bread or cake when you bump into him again?” Ryutaro popped the idea. “A bread or a cake doesn’t necessarily need to be eat together. And we can consider he already give you your graduation present~”
“You and your tricky-jealous-mind,” Chinen mumbled while scoffing as he pinched his boyfriend’s nose.
“And you love me,” Ryutaro said, grinning after he gave a chaste kiss on Chinen’s pouting lips.
