Knots, leaves, fruit and parrots

Gosh I love my little crop of dreadlocks so much. I'd have to say they are one of my most prized possessions. So with that, I'd have to say I'm pretty horrified at the prospect of having to cut them off in the weeks to come. Mum has never been too keen with them and has expressed the desire to have them gone for Thanksgiving. Oh my, I've had nightmares about this moment. I've never been so attached to my hair EVER. Hair has always been this disposable resources that I could play with and shave off and it would just come right back! But my dreads have grown so close to me since Andrew and I made them...I can't imagine how painful it would be to comb or cut them all out. I really can't. Gosh I love them so much. And I seem to love them even more with every day, especially the exceptionally scraggly days. Those are the best! Ouuuh what a hurty subject to mull over :c Abandoning my little headbuddies.
I had a wet and soggy dendrology lab on Monday that involved lots of ducking and weaving around trees and shrubs and leaves and other delightful forest beings. OH and I saw the biggest persimmon tree ever and it was just SAGGING with ripe, delicious fruit, but it was on the other side of the river. Mmmm persimmons! Then the lab ended and I spent the next 5 or 6 hours doing chores and generally being in public. Later that night I discovered 4 dead leaves stuck in my dreads. Thanks for telling me about these stowaways, classfriends! I'm glad half of Athens got to see me looking like I just crawled out of a leafy hole. I think that may be one of the many reasons I love my locks so much though.
Also, I'm thinking about getting an African grey sometime in the future. The day I get a new animal friend who can talk to me will be the best ever, especially considering it will be a bird, and I'm horrible partial to my avian friends!

This post feels rather pointless. I'm going to bed.
