Name / LJ Username (if available) : Charlie Kerrigan
House: Hufflepuff
Age / Birthdate: 17 // April 2
Year: 7th

Bloodline / Heritage: Pureblood / English
Personal History:

As a Pureblood, Charlie was taught to be proper and upstanding, all the time. He’d wear his impeccable dress robes to the dinner table, dance with any eligible daughter shoved into his arms, make sure his shoes were shined and blonde hair brushed.

When he grew up, however, he insisted the stiff and regulated lifestyle was crushing him and preventing him from growing mentally. It was quite a profound thing for an eight year old to say, but his parents brushed it off anyway.

One night at the dinner table, Charlie began boasting about how he stole his father’s wand and sent all of his nanny’s knickers to the roof, making them wave from the weathervane like a flag. He also said that he hated kissing Charlotte Goodwin so much that he tripped her on her way out, mostly because her face reminded him of his Great Aunt Margaret’s backend. At first his parents grimaced and ignored, but something had to be done when Charlie began announcing his triumphs in front of others.

The answer was drowning him in everything imaginable. Piano, Violin, French lessons, Italian, Rugby, football- anything to keep him busy. Charlie loved everything he was learning. He picked up the instruments and languages easily and was often found in his backyard kicking a football.

Once his Hogwarts letter came, Charlie was immediately shipped off. His parents assumed that being around other children would help him grow out of this rambunctious phase of his, and that they’d have a few peaceful parties in his absence.

Each summer he returns home just as troublesome as the year before, and is tossed into summer classes for anything and everything. Even though he’s a Pureblood, Charlie’s parents find Muggle education just as important. The only thing he refuses to take is mathematics, though the etiquette classes aren’t his favorite, either.

Personality:
At first glance, Charlie is pretty much the all-around guy. He’s cheerful most of the time, friendly, and talkative. He’s anyone and everyone’s friend, and isn’t quick to judge or get angry. He’s a problem-solver and helper by nature, a very easy match to Hufflepuff.

He takes everything in stride, no matter how serious or disheartening. Charlie’s known to crack a joke or two to cheer a mate up, or warble a goofy song off-key to earn a laugh. He loves pranking and causing trouble, but is a good student. Homework gets done, classes are attended, though he does have an admirable string of detentions for his trouble-making.

At first glance, he may appear a little dim. Maybe that’s because of his tendency to be loud and boisterous, doing anything for a laugh. He earns good grades, though he has to work at it. He saves his studying and work for late at night, though, leaving most thinking he puts in no effort. The epitome of a rich boy, they tend to think, handed everything on a silver platter. While this misconception annoys him sometimes, Charlie tries to ignore it.

Charlie likes to think he’s popular, or at least that most people like him. He’s a flirty, talkative guy, though he has the tendency to be arrogant. Why anyone wouldn’t like him he can’t figure out, as Charlie seems to think he’s pretty fun. No matter, though, there are plenty of people that DO love him!

He’s a romantic. Charlie wants the everlasting, undeniable, total relationship. Sure, he wouldn’t turn down a random snog or two, but he tends to fall hard and fast when he’s really attracted to someone. Actually, he’d be a pretty good boyfriend, though most girls only see him as the guy that wants to have fun. For now, though, he’s quite happy being single. The other times he insisted he was in love, it didn’t turn out so well. It was bloody embarrassing, actually, especially when he figured out he wasn’t in love. So now he’s trying to remain girl-free. Doesn’t mean he’d turn down the occasional snog, though.

Charlie possess qualities from each of the houses, really. Like a Gryffindor, he’s brave and bold, not afraid to put himself out there in any situation. Similar to a Ravenclaw, he loves to learn and studies hard. He’s also ambitious and determined, rather like a Slytherin. His loyalty and playfulness stands out the most among his other qualities, though, making him the shining example of a Hufflepuff. He’s quick to lend a hand or cheer someone up, even if he doesn’t know them.

Physical Description: Charlie’s about 6’1” with an athletic build. He’s strong, and pretty fit from all the romping he does around the grounds. He’s got a mop of light blonde hair, a little wavy and always just a tad longer than normal. He’s got a birthmark just above his lip on the left side, and blue eyes.
