Oh lordy! I, of course, saw the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince last night and it was so wonderful. I absolutely came away from it satisfied, and with more good feeling than bad.
I could go on and on with all my thoughts, but I think the most noteworthy part of the movie for me was the end. When Harry revealed the fake locket and and told Hermione (and a strangely lurking Ron) that he wouldn't be returning to Hogwarts, leading the way for the final installments, it was the weirdest. Even though there are still two more movies, it's pretty crazy that it's all almost over. I am so excited for what's to come -- for seeing Harry Potter movies so very different from the rest, for seeing all the things I love so much about the last book on screen -- but at the same time I'm apprehensive. It all goes along with the feeling of being older than most of the people at the premiere and of not knowing if we'd all be together when the final film came out, the very summer that we'll graduate.
Somehow, Harry Potter always seems to fit perfectly with my life, which I love. And which I think is a sure sign that I need to get another tattoo this summer!
