i'm in LOVE
I've been on a movie watching frenzy lately. I watch a new movie almost every day. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but today I watched (at the suggestion of Amazon.com) Frederico Fellini's Nights of Cabiria. It was the sweetest, cutest, most endearing thing I've seen since Dummy.
The movie stars the director's wife as Cabiria, the most adorable little hooker, who you'd never actually know was a hooker cause she's just so huggable. She's blunt and rude with everyone, to the point that it's either depressing or comical. "You wanna laugh? Just look in the mirror!". The movie is in Italian which somehow makes her delivery of the cheapest lines like that intensely hilarious. She always has the cheapest look on her face, that can best be described as "eh". It's from 1957 and filmed in Rome so it goes without saying that there's a huge chic factor going on.
Rent it or something. I found it at my school library.
