Costuming is Hard
Dear Game of Thrones Costuming Staff:
Why do you hate the awesome details of Danaerys' storyline? You have an amazing budget and you generally use it well, but when it comes to little details that cost basically no money, you're like, "Meh, let's not do that."
I direct your attention to Exhibit A. Qarthian dresses. It's an HBO show, which means if there's even the most remote opportunity for boob, there's boob, and lots of it. We've seen Danaerys' in all states of undress, so we know there's no issue on the actress's end. In the book, Qarthian women wear dresses that leave one breast undraped. We get to Qarth in the show, Dany gets a dress to wear for her meeting with the 13, both boobs covered. Cuz who cares about cultural oddities. We'll just have three more scenes where Melissandre gets naked for no reason and a lovely shot of Dany getting out of a tub cuz, you know, whatever.
And then we come to Exhibit B. Yunkai. HBO, you have disappointed me. Awesome. Blue. Spiked. Hair. And where the hell is Daario's awesome blue beard!? Why does he look like Legolas on steroids?
You disappoint me, GoT costuming staff. Get it together.
