Skills and Abilities: Daphne has no supernatural powers. However, she has a very high intelligence and can make just about anything from items she finds in her purse or that she can get from the surrounding area. (In the DVD movie, "Where's My Mummy?" Daphne used make-up in her purse, a towel and a few things of clay to create mummy costumes for an entire group of people to make the villain think that Cleopatra and her armies had come back from the dead.) She is a gymnast and has been shown to be highly proficient in several different kinds of martial arts and can use weapons such as swords and staffs -- and can take simple, everyday items to make into a weapon if she absolutely has to.
She’s a phenomenal writer and sometimes fancies herself to be an investigative journalist.

Canon:The Scooby Doo franchise has been in production off and on since 1969. The mostly cartoon shows center around a large, cowardly, loving dog named Scooby Doo and his four friends (Shaggy Rogers, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley and Fred Jones) going from place to place and solving mysteries in their Tardis-like van painted light green with flowers and things that make it look like it just came out of the 60’s that they call The Mystery Machine. The Mystery Machine holds more gear than it looks like it should be able to and it seems t be able to be driven or shipped anywhere. (Let’s not ask how supposed teenagers can manage to afford to not only travel the world looking for mysteries when they don’t appear to have real jobs and at the same time ship their van all over the world.)
There are times that they stumble accidentally into the mystery -- and times that they run head first into anything that has the slightest hint of something mysterious going on. Usually Scooby and Shaggy are very against getting involved in any of these “scary” mysteries as they are admitted and confirmed cowards and scaredy cats. However, no matter how they try to refuse to get involved with the latest mystery, Daphne or Velma bribe them with their favorite snack in the world -- Scooby Snacks.
Most of the times, the mysteries are caused by people in masks or using high tech (for the times) toys and special effects. However, there are a few mysteries (in the DVD movie line) that are actually caused by supernatural creatures. These are few and far between. The show is all about friends and helping others and is full of cheesy goodness and it has been rebooted and reshaped so many times for that reason. The kids save the day and get varying rewards or curses for doing so. That doesn’t stop them from going out and hoping to find the next mystery.
What's New, Scooby Doo? is the ninth and one of the more recent reboots, having a run of three seasons and now doing direct to DVD cartoon films. In this version of the series, everything is more high tech in order to make it more realistic for the current times. This will be the version of the universe where Daphne will be coming into the game from.
Personality: Daphne Blake is the obvious fashionista of the series, but there is so much more to her than that. She is really a quick thinker and is always willing to suggest ideas for issues that come up during mysteries. She been described as "perfection" and she chose to lead a "quiet life" instead of becoming a super model like her cousin. She's tall and willowy with bright red hair and green eyes. She is much more athletic than you would think she is since she is always wearing expensive, fashionable shoes. Her favorite colors are purple and green and she loves shopping -- and trying to give other people make-overs.
Daphne is intelligent and can make things out of whatever items she can find in her purse or nearby. (She once repaired the Mystery Machine with a bottle of water, a bobby pin and a lemon.)
She gets along well with anyone she meets and is quick to make friends wherever she goes. She likes to take care of people and will do her best to do so. This might be by giving them make-overs, taking them shopping or whatever seems to be the best way to take care of someone in need at the time.
Daphne is not a snob, but she does have very strong opinions on things of fashion and what someone should not be trying to wear.
She has a good heart and cannot bear to think of anyone being in trouble or in danger. If she thinks someone looks like they need help, she will often jump into the fray before thinking too hard about it.
