Neil Gaiman's Dog and the Weekend

Anyone else read Neil Gaiman's blog?  He is the author of Stardust, Good Omens and Coraline.  I have been reading his blog for years and just love him.  The other day I read his blog about his dog passing away and it had me in tears.  He was a big, White German Shephard named Cabal.  It is always hard to lose a pet.  I always loved his posts about his dog, especially when he actually rescued him, and I will greatly miss those posts.  Poor guy.

This weekend was pretty nice and relaxing.  Went to PetSmart to get the dogs booties.  They have been having a hard time walking with the snow, ice and salt.  Aria starts limping, which is tough for a dog with only 3 legs.  Then she stops walking all together and wants to be carried.  I feel really bad when I am carrying Aria and then Kaylar starts limping.  I can't carry both of them.  So we thought booties would be a great idea!  Of course, the good ones were like $50 each.  Well, there were these cute pink ones on sale for only $8 with little rubber soles.  I though they would work.

NOT!  They barely stayed on even after a few steps.  I also relaized the mistake that they were cloth.  They are going to get all wet and cold in the snow.  So I am taking them back and will buy the good ones when I need them.

Had a lovely dinner with Zan and Mark in South Philly last night.  I never go into the city because driving and parking suck (I am such a spoiled suburban girl) but Zan has been talking about this great Italian restaurant called Marras.  The food was delicious, most notably the cannolis for dessert.  So good!
