I'm sick.
This is a rare occurrence. I have an excellent immune system so I almost never get sick. Usually when I do, it is minor and not enough to make me miss anything.
Not this time. It started last week with just a mild sore throat and a lot of gross mucusy production. I felt worst on Monday but being a work-aholic, I decided to go in to work for at least the morning. Stayed till about 4pm because there was so much to do. Felt better Tuesday and even better Wednesday. Thursday I started to feel a little worse and that continued into Friday. By the middle of ysesterday, my voice started to go. I had to apologize to all my afternoon appointments and one guy even said my voice sounded sexy like that. Unfortunately, it got worse and I had to struggle for people to understand me on the phone with important callback (one of which is a newly diabetic cat that is being very difficult to regulate on insulin - 1 unit is too much and 1/2 unit not enough - and the owner is getting very frustrated because the cat is running away from them. Ugh.)
Today I have absolutely no voice. So bad that I can't go to the Krampusfest party with the Browncoats tonight (we are a Firefly fan group). My throat hurts but not horribly. I feel drained but again, not completely awful. I am trying to talk as little as possible so that I will have a voice for work Monday.
In other news, I am finally catching up on TV. OMG, just watched a very significant episode of The Walking Dead where important people died. That was not a spoiler because important people die all the time!
