I should know better . . . than to even DRIVE PAST the humane society. Her name is ILARIA, Moe will call her "Allie" for short, not that it will matter to her. She's deaf. OK, so my youngest daughter's boyfriend works at the shelter. He knows how much I love Great Danes and they got two in that were mixes. Had to go see them. I had no trouble resisting them. But then came the fateful moment when he said, "But there's a litter of Italian Greyhound/Labrador puppies on the next row." We went to visit them. VISIT, mind you. After playing with them for a while, I had already chosen my favorite. THEN I learned that she was bi-laterally deaf. Her litter mates were getting adopted and she was being overlooked because of her disability. Put me right over the edge. I told my daughter to text a pic to Moe. Moe called back. We agreed to give her a home. Moe already has experience in hand signal training and I am learning. The big dogs still don't quite know what to make of her. What can I say. I'M A SUCKER!!!!
