Grad Lunchons and Random Waffle Days

Both the libraries I work for are pretty cool places to work with nice people. Both libraries get birthday cakes for the birthday people and stuff like that and its fun. That said, there is a breakdown of comunication at the College Library. Today I ran into on of the secritaries in the ladies room and she asked me "Are you going to the lunchon today?"

Me: What lunchon?

Apparently they were having a little celibration because Mario, one of computer tech guys just graduated with his computer degree. Kathy brough in homemade lazinia that her son made, along with bread and salaid and cake. The conferance room was decorated with "Congrats Grad" signs and little grad hats and such. It was a really nice thing for them to do for Mario and it was fun. But I didn't know about it until about an hour before. Usually it not really a problem. The secritaries are good at rounding people up at the start of the event and most things seem to happen durning my shift so its all good.

Last Christmas though it was a problem. They were having a potluck Christmas party where every one brings something and I didn't know about it until my co-worker who works the shift after me came in about an hour or so early. Again I was all "What are you doing here so early?" That's when I found out about the party. It was a little embarrising because I had nothing to bring. So I wish I was a little more in the loop.

Still its a fun place to work. Last week the directer of the college (its a small extention of a college) randomly brought in her waffle iron and trimmings and made waffles for all the staff. We are in a two week break between spring and summer semesters so there were no students around. So the secertaries called me (and everyone else) to say "Come to the office, we have waffles."
