Gift Fic for Smoke's Birthday.  I hope you enjoy it.

Fandom: Tsubasa
Pairing: Kurogane/Fai

Fai could hear Kurogane moving around behind him and grumbling under his breath. He waited until just the right moment, then cheerfully called out, “We’re going to be gone for a few days, Kuro-min, so make sure you pack enough underwear.” Fai grinned at the explosion of expletives behind him and didn’t even bother to look as he continued folding him own clothes and carefully packing them in the travel bag Tomoyo had provided.
“I know how to pack, damn it. I don’t need your commentary.”
Fai placed another piece of clothing in his bag. “I really don’t know why you’re so against traveling Kuro-rin, after all the fun we had together before.” He heard Kurogane give a distinct snort. “Or are you just grumpy because last time Tomoyo-chan sent you off with out any chance to pack at all? Hummmm?” Fai leaned backwards and tilted his head back, giving him an upside down view of Kurogane grabbing clothing from the cabinet build into the wall and stuffing it into his own bag.
Kurogane gave a slight growl, but didn’t even bother to comment on that. Fai frowned, well that was no fun.
His own packing done, Fai decided he should help Kurogane with his. He stood up and started poking through Kurogane’s bag.
“Hey! What do you think you doing?” Kurogane pulled Fai’s arm out of the bag.
“I’m helping you pack.” Fai smiled angelically up at him, which of course only made Kurogane wrinkle his eyebrows in suspicion.
“What part of ‘I know how to pack, damn it’ don’t you understand?”
“Well obviously you don’t.” Fai pulled his arm out of Kurogane’s grasp and before the other man could react, darted forward and pulled out something from the bag. “Knives!” He waved said knives in front of Kurogane’s face. “This isn’t some ninja mission; we’re going to a wedding. Silly Kuro-pon, you don’t bring knives to a wedding.”
Kurogane pulled the neatly wrapped set of concealable knives out of Fai’s hand. “It’s the Kid’s and the Princess’s wedding. You know how they attract trouble. These,” he waved the knives at Fai, “are a precaution.” Kurogane very firmly placed the knives back into his pack.
“Well I think you are being overly paranoid.” Fai pulled the knives out of the pack again. “If you bring all these weapons you won’t have room to pack any presents.”
“And I think you’re an idiot.” Kurogane grabbed the knives back and stuffed them into the bag. “And it’s not like I’m bringing the entire armory, just a set of throwing knives. And Ginryu.” He closed up his pack before Fai could grab the knives again. “Don’t you have anything better to do then annoy me?”
Fai grinned up at him. “Nope.”
“What about the preparations for leaving tomorrow?”
Fai shrugged. “There isn’t much we need to do on this end. Now that Sakura-chan controls the power of the ruins, she can open up a portal to anyplace she’s been fairly easily. All we have to do is go through it.”
Kurogane nodded distractedly.
Fai looked past Kurogane to the half open cabinet.
Kurogane shifted so that he was between Fai and the cabinet. “I told you I don’t need help packing, so go do something else already.”
“Why Kuro-puu, it looks almost like you are trying to hide something from me.” Fai tried to step past Kurogane.
Kurogane grabbed him by the waist and pulled him back, but not before Fai managed to slide the cabinet door all the way open.
“Ahha! Those look like presents.” Fai tilted his head back and looked up at the ninja. “And I though you said you weren’t the type who gets people presents.”
Kurogane looked away, embarrassed. “Yeah well, since we have to go to anyway, I figured might as well.”
Fai smiled up at him. Ever since Sakura had contacted them with the invitation, Kurogane had been acting like it was a big pain to travel through dimensions just to attend a wedding.   However, Fai knew the ninja well enough to know how touched he was that it was so important to the children that they attend.
“So what kinds of presents did Kuro-daddy get for our darling children, hummm?” Fai turned around and looped his arms around Kurogane’s neck.
“They’re not actually our kids.” It was a half-hearted mutter, said more out of habit then anything else. He pulled Fai off of him and giving up any hope of stealth, pulled out the two neatly wrapped packages and placed them carefully in his pack. “It’s a knife and a doll.”
Fai tilted his head to the side. “A knife and a doll?”
Korogane spoke so softly that Fai almost had trouble hearing him. “Tomoyo was able to salvage some stuff from Suwa after … after. The knife was my father’s. The doll, well, it probably doesn’t mean anything in Clow Country but here girls are given a set of dolls to display during Girl’s Festival. They’re supposed to bring happiness and a good marriage or something. They get passed down the family and some of my mother’s dolls survived …” Kurogane trailed off, looking away.
Fai stared at him; then he slid his hands up Kurogane’s arms and around his neck. Leaning up, he kissed Kurogane softly. “That is so sweet of you Kuro-chan. I know the children will be honored.”
Kurogane growled. “Shut up. I’m not sweet.”
Fai kissed him again. “You are sweet. And you’re blushing.”
“I’m going to kill you.”
“Mmmmhmmm.” Fai hummed an amused acknowledgment against Kurogane’s lips. When Kurogane opened his mouth, most likely to repeat his death threat more vehemently, Fai took advantage and slipped his tongue inside Kurogane’s mouth, twirling around Kurogane’s.
As he felt Kurogane respond, he smirked against the ninja’s lips. By the time Kurogane caught his breath again, Fai was certain he’d have forgotten all about the death threats.
