My favorite story this year:
It's so difficult to choose a favourite. Maybe Too Sexy (For Your Party). Writing Aomine was fun. Aomine in leather trousers made it even better.

Okay, so... I think I'm most pleased with how Garden Tryst came out. But best is so subjective. If you can't stand sibling incest, this story would definitely not be best! But I think my writing in it was pretty good.
What's the story that made you happiest?
Hm. Maybe Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours), as that is the first part of the sequel series to Ruki's Kinky Adventures, and I've wanted to write about Ruki, Uruha, and Kai's continued adventures as a triad. It was nice to get back to them and spend time with them as characters again.
Most popular story:
It's a battle between Autumn Play and Too Sexy (For Your Party). Autumn Play has 805 hits with 36 kudos, and Too Sexy (For Your Party) has 785 hits and 39 kudos.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
... I've learned to not voice any malcontent about fics being unappreciated. I was surprised to see that so few people were into the Kirito/Kohta pairing in the Angelo fandom. But I'm okay with that. It's a pairing I like thinking about, because I'm terrible like that, but I'll probably not write it again.
Most fun story:
I thought The Oni And The Kitsune had some fun moments, with cheesy pickup lines and pretending to not know who the other person was...
Sexiest story:
Well, that has to be Too Sexy (For Your Party), right? The title says it is anyway. ;)
Story most driven by sex as a plot:
The three parts I wrote in the Second Coming series, the sequel to Ruki's Kinky Adventures: Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours), A Voice In the Night, and Sundae Evening.
The plot in Ruki's Kinky Adventures was entirely driven by the porn, but I thnk this series is going to be slightly different. The sex is still going to be a very important part of it, because I actually enjoy using sex to develop characters and to show their growth. But there will be a lot more emotional plot points, and tension and other things. Maybe some parts won't even have sex at all, I don't know yet.
The Watcher is also a story that is very much driven by sex as the plot.
Story with single sweetest moment:
I kind of think Aoi bringing a bed as a present to Takeru in The Perks of Being Aoi: Sleepover is sweet.
Hardest story to write:
The Suicide Circus, I think. I wanted it to be creepy and focused on the horror elements rather than what little porn I put into it. It was also an attempt to write something that wasn't my usual style. Not sure how well I succeeded... I feel like I would have needed more time and more effort put into it, but I also felt like I couldn't do more. Not sure I did the idea justice, but it was the best I could do right now. Maybe another year I can write a better horror story, but I'm still rather pleased with it.
Easiest story to write:
I think that has to be Duty. It was a short little Bleach fic, that the live action movie inspired.
Story that made you cry/saddest story:
I don't think I wrote any sad stories this year either. Spooky stories, yes. But no sad ones.
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you" story:
That has to be The Fic That Should Not Be. I mean, tentacle monster that sleeps somewhere on the bottom of the ocean paired with Sadako's mother? Yeah, that's all kinds of wrong. ;) But it made sense at the time, in a cracky way, and I still really like it.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
None. I don't really get why a story I write about already established characters would change my perception of them? They are still the ones in canon that they are?
Biggest disappointment:
Not sure. Maybe that Sugar Pain didn't get that many hits, or that not many people has been interested in reading Red and White. But these things happen. Could be that the summaries weren't good enough, could be that Red and White is a crossover with Yûkaku, could be something else. Eh, I like them anyway.
Biggest surprise:
That the Super Lovers fics I wrote were so popular! I actually didn't think that would be a particularly big or active fandom. So that was nice.
Most telling story:
Maybe Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours) or Sundae Evening, as these have a lot of my own feelings and thoughts about BDSM and polyamory written into them.
Favorite opening lines:
A small shiver travelled over Kau's skin, following Arbitro's finger as he brushed it over a long mark that the whip had left on his back. Of course Kau couldn't see it, but it didn't matter. It wasn't for him the marks were made; they were for his Master to enjoy.

Looking back, did you write more stories than you thought you would this year, fewer than you thought, or about what you predicted?
I really didn't know how much I would write this year, with all that's going on in real life. I suppose I got a little frustrated at how hard it was to write the last couple of months, and I finished very little after the big October frenzy. I think I was a little burnt out after all the October challenges. So I sort of fizzled out towards the end of the year.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2019?
I never thought I'd write so much incest as I did! But Octobercest was a great enabler for that. And it was great fun. I hadn't planned to ever write anything for the band Angelo either, and I blame Octobercest for that too.
Story that could have been better?
The Suicide Circus Well, I guess all of them could have been better if I'd polished and agonized more over them, but that would have taken so much of the joy out of writing.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
I did, I think. I posted an original story, with original characters - characters and a world that I've previously used for crossovers in several fandoms: Dark Waters (AO3) for Yûkaku: Traveling House of Pleasure.
What I learned was that I really, really like those characters, and the world I've partially built for them, and that I want to continue to write for this non-fandom. I also found out that more people than I expected were willing to give the story and the characters a chance! I got more hits on this original story than I've got on stories for actual fandoms! So... yeah. That was interesting. If anyone would like to find out more about Yûkaku and the characters (Rikuto, Shiro, and Yuki, which are the ones I've written about so far), I'd love to talk about them. Of course. ;)
What story do you want to have written?
There are a few fic ideas in my notebook that I meant to have written before December was over. Alas.
Story I want remembered:
Maybe The Suicide Circus? Even though I'm not sure that I managed to do what I wanted with it, or if it's actually good enough for what I tried to do... I see its shortcomings, especially compared to what I had in my head as I started to write it, but I also like it a lot. Maybe I just want it remembered because for once, it's not only porn?
New question: How did the things I predicted for 2019 turn out?
I predicted more GazettE, and that happened. I predicted more Dadaroma, which also happened, but not anything with their new drummer... And I said I'll pick up Bleach again, and I did.
What's next for the coming year:
More the GazettE, probably more Dadaroma because I have something vague floating around in the back of my head about them which does include that new drummer. There will probably also be more Togainu no Chi, Kuroko no Basuke, All Out!!, and Super Lovers. Possibly more Bleach. And I'll have to write more for Yûkakau. I don't see myself picking up any more fandoms.

It's so difficult to choose a favourite. Maybe Too Sexy (For Your Party). Writing Aomine was fun. Aomine in leather trousers made it even better.

That I think is best? um, and I thought choosing a favourite was hard!
Okay, so... I think I'm most pleased with how Garden Tryst came out. But best is so subjective. If you can't stand sibling incest, this story would definitely not be best! But I think my writing in it was pretty good.
What's the story that made you happiest?
Hm. Maybe Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours), as that is the first part of the sequel series to Ruki's Kinky Adventures, and I've wanted to write about Ruki, Uruha, and Kai's continued adventures as a triad. It was nice to get back to them and spend time with them as characters again.
Most popular story:
It's a battle between Autumn Play and Too Sexy (For Your Party). Autumn Play has 805 hits with 36 kudos, and Too Sexy (For Your Party) has 785 hits and 39 kudos.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
... I've learned to not voice any malcontent about fics being unappreciated. I was surprised to see that so few people were into the Kirito/Kohta pairing in the Angelo fandom. But I'm okay with that. It's a pairing I like thinking about, because I'm terrible like that, but I'll probably not write it again.
Most fun story:
I thought The Oni And The Kitsune had some fun moments, with cheesy pickup lines and pretending to not know who the other person was...
Sexiest story:
Well, that has to be Too Sexy (For Your Party), right? The title says it is anyway. ;)
Story most driven by sex as a plot:
The three parts I wrote in the Second Coming series, the sequel to Ruki's Kinky Adventures: Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours), A Voice In the Night, and Sundae Evening.
The plot in Ruki's Kinky Adventures was entirely driven by the porn, but I thnk this series is going to be slightly different. The sex is still going to be a very important part of it, because I actually enjoy using sex to develop characters and to show their growth. But there will be a lot more emotional plot points, and tension and other things. Maybe some parts won't even have sex at all, I don't know yet.
The Watcher is also a story that is very much driven by sex as the plot.
Story with single sweetest moment:
I kind of think Aoi bringing a bed as a present to Takeru in The Perks of Being Aoi: Sleepover is sweet.
Hardest story to write:
The Suicide Circus, I think. I wanted it to be creepy and focused on the horror elements rather than what little porn I put into it. It was also an attempt to write something that wasn't my usual style. Not sure how well I succeeded... I feel like I would have needed more time and more effort put into it, but I also felt like I couldn't do more. Not sure I did the idea justice, but it was the best I could do right now. Maybe another year I can write a better horror story, but I'm still rather pleased with it.
Easiest story to write:
I think that has to be Duty. It was a short little Bleach fic, that the live action movie inspired.
Story that made you cry/saddest story:
I don't think I wrote any sad stories this year either. Spooky stories, yes. But no sad ones.
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you" story:
That has to be The Fic That Should Not Be. I mean, tentacle monster that sleeps somewhere on the bottom of the ocean paired with Sadako's mother? Yeah, that's all kinds of wrong. ;) But it made sense at the time, in a cracky way, and I still really like it.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
None. I don't really get why a story I write about already established characters would change my perception of them? They are still the ones in canon that they are?
Biggest disappointment:
Not sure. Maybe that Sugar Pain didn't get that many hits, or that not many people has been interested in reading Red and White. But these things happen. Could be that the summaries weren't good enough, could be that Red and White is a crossover with Yûkaku, could be something else. Eh, I like them anyway.
Biggest surprise:
That the Super Lovers fics I wrote were so popular! I actually didn't think that would be a particularly big or active fandom. So that was nice.
Most telling story:
Maybe Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours) or Sundae Evening, as these have a lot of my own feelings and thoughts about BDSM and polyamory written into them.

A small shiver travelled over Kau's skin, following Arbitro's finger as he brushed it over a long mark that the whip had left on his back. Of course Kau couldn't see it, but it didn't matter. It wasn't for him the marks were made; they were for his Master to enjoy.

Hmm. Either Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours), or Sundae Evening. The first because it's a song title that I think fits the fic perfectly and the other because it's a terrible, horrible pun.
Looking back, did you write more stories than you thought you would this year, fewer than you thought, or about what you predicted?
I really didn't know how much I would write this year, with all that's going on in real life. I suppose I got a little frustrated at how hard it was to write the last couple of months, and I finished very little after the big October frenzy. I think I was a little burnt out after all the October challenges. So I sort of fizzled out towards the end of the year.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2019?
I never thought I'd write so much incest as I did! But Octobercest was a great enabler for that. And it was great fun. I hadn't planned to ever write anything for the band Angelo either, and I blame Octobercest for that too.
Story that could have been better?
The Suicide Circus Well, I guess all of them could have been better if I'd polished and agonized more over them, but that would have taken so much of the joy out of writing.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
I did, I think. I posted an original story, with original characters - characters and a world that I've previously used for crossovers in several fandoms: Dark Waters (AO3) for Yûkaku: Traveling House of Pleasure.
What I learned was that I really, really like those characters, and the world I've partially built for them, and that I want to continue to write for this non-fandom. I also found out that more people than I expected were willing to give the story and the characters a chance! I got more hits on this original story than I've got on stories for actual fandoms! So... yeah. That was interesting. If anyone would like to find out more about Yûkaku and the characters (Rikuto, Shiro, and Yuki, which are the ones I've written about so far), I'd love to talk about them. Of course. ;)
What story do you want to have written?
There are a few fic ideas in my notebook that I meant to have written before December was over. Alas.
Story I want remembered:
Maybe The Suicide Circus? Even though I'm not sure that I managed to do what I wanted with it, or if it's actually good enough for what I tried to do... I see its shortcomings, especially compared to what I had in my head as I started to write it, but I also like it a lot. Maybe I just want it remembered because for once, it's not only porn?
New question: How did the things I predicted for 2019 turn out?
I predicted more GazettE, and that happened. I predicted more Dadaroma, which also happened, but not anything with their new drummer... And I said I'll pick up Bleach again, and I did.
What's next for the coming year:
More the GazettE, probably more Dadaroma because I have something vague floating around in the back of my head about them which does include that new drummer. There will probably also be more Togainu no Chi, Kuroko no Basuke, All Out!!, and Super Lovers. Possibly more Bleach. And I'll have to write more for Yûkakau. I don't see myself picking up any more fandoms.
