My best story this year:
Myself, I'm quite fond of Trick of the Light, the other Yûkaku crossover, maybe because I wanted to write that one for several months before I got around to it. But when I look at AO3, it's Eye of the Taiga with 69 kudos.
What's the story that made you happiest?
Hmm. Maybe From Hell? Because it had been a while since I wrote any Gaze fic then, and I was itching to write something for their Halloween live costumes.
Most popular story:
According to AO3, it's Predator vs Kagami, because that got the most hits. Otherwise, I'd have no idea which one would be most popular.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Eh, I don't know. People like what they like. Sometimes, a thing I write clicks with people, other times not. Who knows why. Sometimes it's just posted at the wrong time on the wrong day and the people who would have liked it didn't see it before it disappeared below the fold. Like, I have 67 hits on one Dadaroma fic, and only 24 on another with the same pairing. A story I would like more people to give a chance, is Trick of the Light, even though it's a crossover, and even though it's a weird pairing with a Kitsune, and has supernatural elements. But If people don't want to, I'm not going to force them. ;)
Most fun story:
Fun to write? Mine, maybe, because I got to revisit my beloved Uru/Kai pairing. ;) But this year most stories have been fun to write. There's been a few that gave me some troubles, but not many.
Sexiest story:
Um... I don't know? Depends on what kinks you have what you think is sexiest? I find them all quite sexy, otherwise I wouldn't have written them. :) (Okay, excluding the fic in the next question.)
Story most driven by sex as a plot:
... I think it's easier to pick which one that doesn't have sex as a plot instead: Eye of the Taiga.

Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)? Not that tentacle dub-con is particularly unusual for me, but I think it's the most out there fic of this bunch? I mean, I didn't write fisting this year, or any hardcore bdsm either. Now, that seems more wrong for me!
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
None? I did write for three new (to me) fandoms this year: Show by Rock!!, Dadaroma, and Kuroko no Basuke, so there were characters that were completely new to me, but as I try to write how I perceive characters/people in the canon material, it didn't shift. What did shift my perception was managing to read a Japanese interview with the singer in Dadaroma, and also the reason why I even dared writing him. (I'm uncomfortable writing characters/people I don't have any grasp of.)
Biggest disappointment:
That I didn't have time to write all the things I wanted to write, or write more from my long list of bunnies.
Biggest surprise:
That I wrote Kuroko fic, I think.
Most telling story:
I... don't know? My preferences and interests and fantasies show up in a lot of my fics, I think, so it's hard to pick one.
Favorite opening lines:
Oh man... Seriously? Okay, so after going through all of them, I have to say that this is hard! I don't really like my opening lines; I choose them after the job they need to do, setting up the fic, but that doesn't mean that I like them much. I often wonder if I couldn't make them any better... But I guess I'll choose this one, from Morning Game:

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2018?
Dadaroma, even though I had sort of wanted to for a little while, because they're pretty, do a lot of fanservice, and I enjoy writing band fic. And I had absolutely no idea that I was going to write Kuroko no Basuke fic! That one just sneaked up on me! I also didn't think I'd ever write Aoi/Uruha again.
Story that could have been better?
Um... probably all of them? I'm very self-critical, and I always struggle with the feeling that I should write better, phrase things more perfectly... My beta-reader stops me from agonizing too much.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Maybe the crossovers with Yûkaku? That I really, really like writing those characters, and that a few readers actually like them too.

What did shift my perception was managing to read a Japanese interview with the singer in Dadaroma, and also the reason why I even dared writing him. (I'm uncomfortable writing characters/people I don't have any grasp of.)
Biggest disappointment:
That I didn't have time to write all the things I wanted to write, or write more from my long list of bunnies.
Biggest surprise:
That I wrote Kuroko fic, I think.

I... don't know? My preferences and interests and fantasies show up in a lot of my fics, I think, so it's hard to pick one.

Oh man... Seriously? Okay, so after going through all of them, I have to say that this is hard! I don't really like my opening lines; I choose them after the job they need to do, setting up the fic, but that doesn't mean that I like them much. I often wonder if I couldn't make them any better... But I guess I'll choose this one, from Morning Game:

Looking back, did you write more stories than you thought you would this year, fewer than you thought, or about what you predicted?

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2018?
Dadaroma, even though I had sort of wanted to for a little while, because they're pretty, do a lot of fanservice, and I enjoy writing band fic. And I had absolutely no idea that I was going to write Kuroko no Basuke fic! That one just sneaked up on me! I also didn't think I'd ever write Aoi/Uruha again.
Story that could have been better?
Um... probably all of them? I'm very self-critical, and I always struggle with the feeling that I should write better, phrase things more perfectly... My beta-reader stops me from agonizing too much.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Maybe the crossovers with Yûkaku? That I really, really like writing those characters, and that a few readers actually like them too.
What story do you want to have written?
The masterpiece! lol The ones that are unfinished on my hard drive right now?

All of them? I can't really choose just one, but damn, I write just porn, not great art! ;)
What's next for the coming year:
More the GazettE, more Dadaroma (now that they have a new drummer)... I will probably pick up Bleach and start writing for that again , because the live action movie has rekindled my love.
