What's the story that makes you happiest?
I don't have anyone in particular this time. I've been happy about them all, being able to write them, finishing them, getting any response to them... They all make me equally happy.
My favorite stories this year:
I think it might be the three sequels to the first Ruki/Byou BDSM club story. I called the series "Shinjuku Demon" in the end: Shinjuku Demon: In the Clutch Of the Demon, Shinkjuku Demon: Punishment Is Reward for the Devoted, and Shinjuku Demon: Let's Play Master and Servant. It had been a very long time since I'd really explored the dynamics of heavy BDSM, so that was really interesting. It also felt really rewarding to get a kind of resolution and a happy end... Now there's always the chance that I might get more ideas for these boys and what they're up to, but at least this part of their story is finished.
My best stories this year:
Maybe The Hunted? It's a definite AU where both Uruha and Kai are assassins, and a sequel to a story I wrote in the past. It does contain some world-building that I hope that I've been able to weave into the telling. Or maybe the above mentioned Shinjuku Demon series? I do have a lot of personal BDSM experience, so for me, this is a realistic look into what a BDSM relationship could be like.
Most popular story:
Definitely Bleach: Deathgrip. My little detour back into a past fandom that I used to love so much. I still miss it. I think one part of its popularity is that it's Bleach. Another is that it's tentacle rape. :) For some reason, tentacles can be really popular on archives. (I love tentacles myself, so I understand completely!) This story had been languishing, almost finished, on my hard drive for years before I decided to clean it up, finish it and post it. I'm really glad I did, because I am really pleased with how it came out.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Strapped for Attention, or It Must Have Been Aliens!, both so-called Aoiha fics. I guess I just don't write them as Aoiha fans want to see them. It seems to me that as soon as it's "just" band-fic with the guys as the people they seem to be in interviews and documentaries, people are just not interested in reading. If it's not mermaids, coffee shop AUs, or high school AUs, it's not good. *shrug* Well. I like them better as band members, so that's what I write. I can't please everyone. (But honestly? So few liked the alien abduction AU??? :( )
Most fun story:
It Must Have Been Aliens! This story exists because I accidentally ended up in the Dark Parts of YouTube one day, and watched some crackpot "documentaries" about aliens and alien abductions. Of course I then remembered Uruha's comment in the World Tour '13 documentary about aliens having built the pyramids... So, crack idea that I then tried to write seriously. As seriously as you can write alien abduction, anyway. ;) I had fun.
Sexiest story:
Ruki's Kinky Adventures? :D Although, this year it had a rival in the Shinjuku Demon series when it came to kinkiest story!
Story with single sexiest moment:
This is like asking me what the best sex scene I wrote this year is or something. They're all smutty and sexy, and I can't think of one section or scene that is a little bit sexier than any other. I have no idea, and it's better if you tell me which one you liked the most. I would love to know! :)
I do have a soft spot for moments in both RKA and Shinjuku Demon, relating to a submissive giving all his trust to the dom. I do find those moments really sexy.
Story with single sweetest moment:
In Wet when Kai drags Uruha into the shower to join him. Poor Uruha had tried to not let Kai see that he wants him, but he fails, and Kai just cuts through the awkwardness and makes the decision for him.
Hardest story to write:
The Hunted had moments when it was really hard to write. Probably because of the dubious consent and the fact that I'm not very good at torture and interrogation as a sexy thing.
Ruki's Kinky Adventures 33/? was actually also hard to write. I kept overthinking and had to constantly take a step back so I didn't get stuck in details. I'm often terrified of reusing the same phrases when I write sex scenes, so it's easy for me to get paralyzed, or think that everything I write is crap.
Easiest story to write:
Shinjuku Demon: In the Clutch Of the Demon perhaps. It felt like it wrote itself once I got the bunny for it. Or maybe Bleach: Deathgrip, because I basically just had to tidy it up and not write much at all.
Truest story of the year:
... They're all fiction. If you wonder which story resonates the most with my true feelings or something, I'd say that they all have a bit of me and my emotional baggage in them. Even the tentacle rape one.
Story that made you cry/saddest story:
None. I didn't write anything particularly angsty or sad this year.
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you" story:
Bleach: Deathgrip. Tentacle rape. It's wrong, right?

Biggest disappointment:
That I didn't manage to write more, I guess. I did get a bingo line on the Season of Kink challenge, so that wasn't a disappointment, but I still would have liked to write many more of my bunnies. But I have them in a notebook, so they're not running away. Biggest disappointment is maybe that I seem to have fewer readers this year... or people have stopped commenting. I've also been very bad at replying to comments, which I feel terrible about. :( LJ and DW aren't good places to post fic these days, I think. And there still hasn't come a better place for fandom to replace those communities. Tumblr is not that place.
Biggest surprise:
I finished and posted a Bleach fic! I didn't think I would do that again. Not after how Kubo has treated my favourite characters in the manga. But. I did. And it felt good. :) I still miss Byakuya and Renji and Hisagi something terrible.
Most telling story:

Uruha was working on a song, Kazuki was away on tour, Mizuki was visiting his parents, and the rest hadn't replied, so Aoi had to assume they were also either busy or not in the mood. Unless there was a party somewhere that he hadn't been invited to. Aoi frowned, then decided his friends wouldn't do that to him.

I feel like I'm not very good at catchy, interesting first lines, in general. I try to set a tone, to start a scene, not really being clever. I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing.

I don't think I really have any lines that I can remember off the top of my head as particularly interesting or important... so I'd have to re-read all my fics to hunt some down. I'm seldom proud of particular lines, and if my beta tells me I have to change something, there's never a fight. For the previous questions, I had to go through all the fics and compare them. ;)
Favorite title:
Oh man, titles are the bane of my existence! One reason I love Ruki's Kinky Adventures is that I already have the title for it! :D Maybe Bleach: Deathgrip, because it's a play on the name for holding your cock so hard when you masturbate that you can't come during normal sex, and the fact that those tentacles are going to cause Hisagi's death.
Looking back, did you write more stories than you thought you would this year, fewer than you thought, or about what you predicted?
I wrote fewer than I hoped, but only two less than last year, so I guess I'm okay with that.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2015?
I didn't think I'd write more of the Ruki/Byou BDSM club stuff, but once I got the idea for the one sequel, suddenly it grew to a series. Ooops. I also didn't think I'd finish and post that Bleach tentacle fic.
Story that could have been better?
All of them. I constantly find things in stories I've written that I think is worded awkwardly, or could have been clearer or better described or more detailed.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
... I write stuff I want to write. Is that a risk? If that is the case, what I did learn is that I'm happier writing what I want to write, even if no one reads it. So I'll keep doing that.
This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most:
BDSM? I realise that I wrote a lot of BDSM during 2015. I think it's been my way to work through the death of my psycho ex, with whom I had a very long, very dysfunctional BDSM relationship.
The story that demonstrates the most that BDSM was the theme of 2015 is probably the Shinjuku Demon series, and the fact that one sequel turned into three.
What story do you want to have written?
Many of the fic bunnies on my list... As for other people's stories, I'm not jealous of any of them to the point of wanting to have written them instead. I just enjoy reading fic if I can find a pairing and a premise that I enjoy.
Story I want remembered:
All of Shinjuku Demon series! LOL "You have to read this, it's a BDSM classic!" I don't know. I'd be very happy if anyone actually remembers my stories, but I've been told in the past that even though people might recognise my writer's name, they don't remember anything I've written. So, hmm...
What's next for the coming year:
More Ruki's Kinky Adventures, and prepare for a surprise! ;) Also, more of the assassin AU, and Aoi having fun with that OMC fanboy of his. I'll keep writing porn, kink, and smutty things, and I'll keep trying to improve my writing.

I didn't think I'd write more of the Ruki/Byou BDSM club stuff, but once I got the idea for the one sequel, suddenly it grew to a series. Ooops. I also didn't think I'd finish and post that Bleach tentacle fic.
Story that could have been better?
All of them. I constantly find things in stories I've written that I think is worded awkwardly, or could have been clearer or better described or more detailed.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
... I write stuff I want to write. Is that a risk? If that is the case, what I did learn is that I'm happier writing what I want to write, even if no one reads it. So I'll keep doing that.
This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most:
BDSM? I realise that I wrote a lot of BDSM during 2015. I think it's been my way to work through the death of my psycho ex, with whom I had a very long, very dysfunctional BDSM relationship.
The story that demonstrates the most that BDSM was the theme of 2015 is probably the Shinjuku Demon series, and the fact that one sequel turned into three.
What story do you want to have written?
Many of the fic bunnies on my list... As for other people's stories, I'm not jealous of any of them to the point of wanting to have written them instead. I just enjoy reading fic if I can find a pairing and a premise that I enjoy.
Story I want remembered:
All of Shinjuku Demon series! LOL "You have to read this, it's a BDSM classic!" I don't know. I'd be very happy if anyone actually remembers my stories, but I've been told in the past that even though people might recognise my writer's name, they don't remember anything I've written. So, hmm...
What's next for the coming year:
More Ruki's Kinky Adventures, and prepare for a surprise! ;) Also, more of the assassin AU, and Aoi having fun with that OMC fanboy of his. I'll keep writing porn, kink, and smutty things, and I'll keep trying to improve my writing.
