I can never make a post on just one topic!

Wonderful day out today... and I haven't done anything today apart from having breakfast and coffee and a wank. So, the sun is shining, the stuff I was supposed to do with people today has been moved to tomorrow... *looks around* and the flat can survive without me tidying up right this very moment.

So, what should I do? Wiggle my toes on the balcony (it's still in the shade)? Turn on the laptop and write a little (I have no memory stick to move files between computers atm)? Some other creative things I have not yet thought of?

I do need to restart the computer at some point today, because yesterday it suddenly decided to stop recognising the external DVD drive/burner. :( And that was like two minutes after it had just read a DVD disc that I needed to see exactly what files it had. Then I inserted a blank disc, and the computer refused to play nicely with it. So now I can't get the blank disc out either. Meh. I really hope a restart will solve it. I also really should do that thing about the computer too, to make it nice and stop acting like it's cursed.

I've now watched 22(?) episodes of Durarara! There's just the final episode left, whenever that comes.

Episodes 11 and 12 were interesting, dealing mostly with Celty, but after that it went back to being mostly boring and bursting with exposition again. I watch it because... erm. *thinks* It's very rare that I give up on a series or a book. I even finished "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" despite hating every single one of the first 950 pages, just to see why so many on my flist loved it. I guess I watch Durarara! for the same reason. Celty is a cool character, and Mikado is gentle and cute. Other than that? Not so much. I guess that after episode um... 5? 6? The one centering on .... um, whatshisname, the superstrong, superangry guy? Anyway, I guess I was supposed to have thought him awesome or interesting or something after that, but I really didn't. And the manipulative nasty guy is just creepy and nasty. Kida-kun? Well, he's less annoying now that he's serious and depressed and a little unhinged. Now he sounds just like Yagami Light, but without the megalomania. Miyano Mamoru is much better like that.

And when the super-annoying couple from Baccano! made a guest appearance in one episode, I seriously wanted to throw things at the computer screen. Urgh! I think this leads me to believe that I should avoid series by this guy, right? So what else has he written/done that I should avoid?

real life, computer problems, anime
