This morning on the way into work ...out of the blue Sammie asked me.. Mommy.. can I talk to the wind. My response was ..well sure, if you want to. He said.. but you can't see it.., and i said well just because you can't see something doesn't mean it isn't there.
But last night something weird happened....
A little back story..
My grandfather (whom I called Pop-Pop) was from Christfield, MD.. its a VERY small fishing/crabbing community on the Chesapeake Bay. It's a town that alot of sea working scottish and irish moved. So everyone there has a this distorted Irish/scotch-ish sounding accent... *oh* and btw... Sammie looks just like him.. except that he's bi-racial.
So getting back to the story.. last night we were watching this Acient Ireland show on PBS that I recorded (because i'm a dork) that had all these irish ppl on it and an irish narrarator.. and all of a sudden.. out of no where.. Sammie turns to me and said.. "You know..You're Pop-Pop used to talk like that.. With eyes wide open in disbelief I look at him and said.. What?!.. he said.. "Your Pop-Pop used to kinda talk like that.
My Pop-Pop died in 1998... Sammie was born in 2000.. and we have no home movies of him.
That still makes my spine shiver when I think about it.
Soo... Any thoughts???
