So, my best friend stumped me with this, and I felt pretty silly.
I mentioned that I was trying to get the nerve to go to the bishop to deal with some issues I'd had. I also told him how I was confused because another best friend had had similar issues to mine and had NOT gone to the bishop. She "dealt with it on [her] own" and has recently become temple worthy.
So, Sean says, "Well, why DO you have to go the bishop for certain things in order to repent?"
I gotta say, I was stumped. The only reason I could come up with was simply that I'd been taught it was the right thing to do.
Why are there sins that need a bishop's help to receive repentance?
