Family Reunions, geneology, and lots to update..
I'm just going to go day by day.
Thursday the 5th of August:
I woke up at 4 am Seattle time got on a place by 630, flew down to Houston, (5 hours) then from Houston to Ohio. (2 1/2 hrs) Sooo fun let me tell you. Actually it wasnt bad. The first flight they had a movie we watched, and a head rest sort of things on teh seat so you ould sleep, that's what I did mostly was sleep. Then the seccond flight I set next to a lady with ehr kids and helped her out because he husabnd wast with her. I think seh appreciated it. She was really sweet. :)
Then we got to ohio, stayed at my grandma Swishers house, and went to bed after all the family was together. We also have a rent-a-car.
Friday the 6th:
Wake up at about 830, go a hair appointment at 1030 and walked down to it. since i didnt have a car. I walk everywhere in seattle anyway so it was only like a 15 min. walk at most. Anyways, I hate the hair cut. i look like sherly temple with it curly, and she didnt even know what feathering meant. the girl who did it. Actually the girl who did it was a friend from 6th grade! LOL When I lived there. Oh hte world is such a small place. Her name is Misty Way and she was like i didnt even recognize you. Anyways it was fun to catch up with her on life. She hasnt reall;y changed a whole lot that I remember.
The night before emily dyed my hair red, which teh color looks great but hte hair cut..ew, i even have bangs. thank goodness i dont come back till the 15th so it has some time to grow out some. gross.
Um whatelse, well that day we also went out to th family reunion at Shawnee National park. I'll download some pictures later. :) Then, we had a big dinner with all the family and sat around and talked. Emily and I with my Cousin Amanda, and her kids (Madison- 5, Kortney- 3) went swimming in the out doors pool. It was great. Then we all had smores at resort afterwards. We stayed up late and my mom made plans to go to Uncle Mikes house afterwards.
Okay Brief explination of my mom's dad's side of the family. No they arn't lds. On that side of the family it's straight from King henry III. MY my mom's dad, (my grandma Massie) lives in england. He;s been married 5 times, my grandma was one of them a longg time ago and had one daughter- my mom. So my grandpa Massie is a little..whore. really. He's always been like that. So I get around my Uncle Mike Massie...well he's my Great uncle my mom's uncle. I;'m not exactly sure how he's related to my Grandpa Massie (dave massie) I REALY hate teh name dave. Dont ask long story.
ANYWAYS- dave's prodigeny is everywhere and he's living the rich life ion england. so it's almost ironic that i'm in love with an english guy., my aunt also dated an english guy (my mom's sister..not sure if Dave is the real dad or not..) Are you confused yet? It really confused me! Anyways Dave Massie grew up here in Ohio area and his mother was an Arrowood. which is CHerokee Indian. He dad was full blood cherokee, so that's like my great great great grandparents that are indian. Not sure how much indian that actually makes me. lol. Anyways, my point was that my grandpa really gets around and \uncle mike is very similar. He's on is 3rd marriage. and his sister Emily Massie (maiden name) has been married 4 times. I dont think taht side of the family is big on commitment. lol.
Saturday the 7th:
Day two of Howard Family REunion. More people showed up. the Howards are on my grandma mom's side. My great grandma Clara Howard is passed away since I was 11, and all her kids get together are still alive. So on my mom's side of the family I really only have one aunt and auncle and ALL these Great Aunts and Uncles. There's Junior, Dexter, Tiny, Lou, Bob, Raymond, Judy, Grandma Swisher and Jerrie. All of which are either great uants and uncles or my grandma. Exception of Tiny, he's acctually my cousin but he's so close in age with all ther est of the them and he's like their brother that I think of him as an uncle rather than a cousin. less of an age gap between him and htem and him and us.
Okay anyways, We all got tohether as the pavillion area in Shawnee and we had a huge luncheon/dinner get together. Mingling tlaking about geneology. ect. I hgave a TON of old pictures I want to upload. I just know I'm meant to do this geneology dfor the people I could feel them around us when i looked at those pictures. some are as far bnack as the first camera's invinted. they are sooo old! I got pictures of my great great great great grandpa Arrowood (the indian we believe) and on down from there.
After that, Emily, Amanda and the kids and I all went paddle boating on the little pond near by. It was really relaxing and just what amanda needed, not to mention the kids were great while we did it.
After that we all went back to the cabins and rich emiyl and I stayed up atill 1230ish talking to eahc other and catching up on things. It was really nice.
Sunday the 8th:
We leave Shawnee resort and go to Kentucky with Uncle Mike and stay at his place. That's where I am right now. \we left our stuff there and had teh whole day to play. We went on the ohio river and got on a regular boat, a house boat, and a sea do. Uncle Mike is remarreid again to Pattie Stapleton and she has a son taht's 17. Naturally he flirted with emily R. (my step sister) Chris is his name and is actually a first cousin to my mom and a second cousin to us. I;'ve never met him in my life. It was fun we all got goign really fast on the sea-do and about 55 (chris dirivng, emily in the middle and m,e on back) we went flying off hitting a huge wave. The sea-do kept going for about 100 yrds before it finnally stopped even with out the key and it was like slow motion for us. We were all clinging so tightly to each other that we all flew off together, and it was kind of like the matrix, it went really really slow and you feel this SMACK and hear a huge splash and then you're in the water. Whci hwas really warm water too.
It was crazy fun though, i got out and was like |"LETS DO IT AGAIN!!" Sometimes I worry myself hehe. I have a ghuge bruise on my ankle from htting it on the side of the sea do getting flung off that thing. But then Emily and i rode it by ourselves, and Chris took me otu a longgg time on it whic hwas fun. He;s a sweet kid.
I enjoyed driving it, we went about 60 on the water and that's kind of freak on the water haha. It's so fun to follow behind speed boats and catch the waves their though. :)
Anyways after that we went to their house boat and eat lunch. They seriously have money that makes you sick. I so wasnt impressed. The sea do was fun, for the thrill but I dont know I guess seeing how simply and happy my family lived in the country made me reconsider how I could live in the big city. I want the best of both worlds I guess lol.
So we went back to their home, had dinner later, talked a lot anmd played a game in Chris' apartment, really it is an apartment over thier garage. They have TWO garages by the way. ...-.- Yeah. anyways, that's that and I went to sleep exhausted nad woke up today. didnt want to go four wheeling cause we dd a little of that last night.\
\so here I am enjoying the peace and quiet of being a lone. hopeing alex is enjoying his trip. missing him, feeling ill and just wanting to sleep. i have a horrible cough and bleh. Hugwe headache achey body from yesterday. I'm jsut wore out and i miss going to church. But other than that it's been a good trip so far. :)
