Fanfiction: Lyude to the Rescue
Title: Lyude to the Rescue

Notes: From a long silence... This idea has been floating around and I figured it was time I posted again. It's only a drabble and I didn't spend any time making it pretty so it's not that good of a piece but hopefully you can still enjoy it. Anyway, it's a Baten Kaitos fic. The first time I saw his attack (I forgot which one it is exactly) described below I just sat staring at my screen thinking 'what the fuck!' It was great!
Kalas swore as he stumbled and tripped, cards fluttering out of his hands. His eyes widened as he watched the skeleton warrior head towards him in his stumbling walk and swing his sword above his head. There was no way possible he would be able to gather his cards or even find a defensive one in time to save him. Desperately, his hands grasped at the ground around him as he tried to raise to his feet.
On one knee, the other trapped below his body, one hand supporting him, his left hand groping for a card, eyes wide and focused on the skeleton warrior - out of nowhere Lyude jumped on the monster and started pounding away, screaming.
Kalas watched frozen in disbelief. What the fuck! Lyude was a calm and polite man, always in complete control of himself. No matter how many times Gibari teased him or Xelha pried for information he’d just smile and say nothing. Even in battle one would see him calmly countering the foes - not this mad frenzy!
Kalas had not moved by the time the monster died, collapsing in on itself. Lyude stood panting, hands resting on his knees over the monster, before straightening. His hands fixed his hair and then brushed at the blood staining his outfit as he turned to face Kalas. When he spoke his voice was calm, even a bit humorous, “Kalas, are you alright, I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it in time.”
End.
