While idly looking for tips on working with things in small scale (I have a third shadow box game in the works, if I can work out the $!@# design issues), I thumbed through a few books on dollhouses at the library. I was amused to see that a nursery in one dollhouse contained a detailed dollhouse miniature of the same dollhouse, leading me to wonder if one could have an infinite chain of these, in a sort of ever-shrinking dollhouse recursion.
One of the books also had photos of the
Thorne Rooms, which I'd seen before as a kid but never really appreciated. I know next to nothing about miniatures/dollhouses, but (comparing them to other examples in the book) the sense of real weight and solidity of the tiny objects in those rooms is nothing short of astonishing.
