Saturday Project Edition 5 update2! HEAD ON!

May 30, 2010 12:05

Contrary to what the subject of this post may say, it has absolutely nothing to do with the line of transformers known as the "Head Masters"... yes, for the uninitiated, there is a line of transformers known as what most of us would call Principals... O_o That said, it's one of my favourite lines and one I grew up on and have many fond memories of. Heck, my 'Holy Grail' comes from that line (the japanese release of Fortress Maximus)

Today, we continue our weekend edition of Saturday Project (NUMBER FIVE!).
The focus of the day today is the continuation of yesterday's accomplishments - Namely - head sculpting, Brawn and Pipes, our faithful blue truck!

First, we return to the heads that we were working on yesterday - where we left off, we were letting the epoxy (apoxie?) cure (harden) and overnight, it's come to a nice consistency - That said, I wanted to go over it with some Mr. Surfacer 500 - usually used to fill in any inconsistencies and level out dints that have been left by fingernails or even fingerprints!
Lo and behold:

Brawn's head is coming along nicely!

The secretWIPprojectThatYouGetASpecialPrizeForGuessingTheCharacter Head is also coming along nicely:

Now we return to the waiting game of letting the surfacer set.

In the meantime, lookit good ol' Pipes here - he's so shiney and exciting now!!! 8D

This is an image of him put back together from when I just woke up today- (9am ish)

Finally, here's how Brawn's body looks at the mo:

I've had to go over the green with Mr Hobby Khaki Green because the Tamiya NATO green I'd used months before has unfortunately gone off. It dried in its pot due to failure to tighten the cap - and now that I've thinned and mixed it up again it's actually drying with a CHALKY consistency that has me a bit upset :( Ah well - it dries quickly though! Now he's cooking by the window- drying off :)

And that's it for this morning (oops - just past noon) update - More to come during the day :)
