Good afternoon!!!!! So bad news: Spring Break is over. Good news: okay, so there really isn't any good news.
Drove w/ Aaron to CT on Saturday, made it there in just over 7 hrs. Which I have to say is a NEW RECORD! It was awesome, I didn't hit any traffic. None. None around DC, none around Baltimore, none around the Tappan Zee Bridge. It was totally amazing. Went out w/ Jena, Nick, Heather and Steve Saturday night. Which was neat. Hadn't seen Jena since... like... July or something. Nick's a good guy...I'm glad she's found someone good :-)
Spent Easter w/ the family... then drove around w/ Aaron on Monday. Came back to VA on Tuesday cause we had a rehearsal since our Chamber Concert was that Friday. Went to Macado's after rehearsal w/ Heather, Lou, Corey, Ken, Thomas and Aaron for my Birthday. It was great. Heather gave me a pile of Dollar Store toys like "Pin the tail on the Puppy" "Ring Toss" and she made me a paperclip bracelet
:-) Lou just had to be a smart ass... he went to Victoria's Secret and bought panties... the correct size and everything... he thinks he's so funny! *It's an inside joke*
Our concert went well. It wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't the worst. Apparently Dr. H. got e-mails from several faculty members who came and they said we played wonderfully. Our next concert is April 18th. Talk about a hectic week... I have a concert w/ my kids on Tuesday, Dress rehearsal on Thursday, concert Friday then back to Hanover for the Arts and Science Festival on Saturday. GRR!!
SO: to vent about today: Before 7:45 I had killed 2 wasps in my trailer. So I went to the office and they moved me to the trailer next door. Which meant from 8-8:30 I was moving stands, chairs and setting up for class. Which also meant that by the time my students came in around 8:30... I was EXHAUSTED and more than ready to go home. Had some 4th grade students sit through our class... (they need to actually know we have a strings class here so I have students to teach next year!) It was interesting. I think they liked it. A lot of kids raised their hands that they might want to take it next year. But it all depends on their parents and if the parents want to spend the money to rent an instrument.
Okay, I'm off to pay my rent and water bill. I almost forgot it was the 1st until a student tried to pull an April Fool's joke on me. Grr
my birthday!,
