Ranting and raving about a wonderful time

wow..let's recap the past week, shall we?

So I drove to Lynchburg for Dress Rehearsal for the concert Thursday.  We started at 6...almost on the dot! but didn't finish til almost 9!  She spent an extra hour or so w/ the strings and we ran through the pieces we were going to play.  I did a DAMN good job sight reading!  i didn't have half the music!  Well i got out of rehearsal, bought a coffee and got ready to drive 2hrs back to Richmond when I walk outside and it's ICING!  So i made a decision and stayed in Lynchburg, e-mailed my professors and took a sick day.
went to Applebees with Ken, Heather, Lou and Jess since none of us had dinner.  stayed there til after 11 and the staff kinda kicked us out.  it was an awesome night.
Dr. H. timed a bunch of movie clips and pictures to play while we played the music.  it was AWESOME!  I
can't wait to get a DVD and see the whole thing!

I hung around LC Thursday and went to Orchestra and we rehearsaed our string stuff again.  That night, the concert was AMAZING!  We had a full house w/ additional seating in the wings, as usual.
The Jazz Band played a suite from "The Incredibles" and "Austin Powers"
The Wind Symphony played a suite with "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, A.I. and The Patriot"
The Strings continued with "Gabriel's Oboe" from The Mission, A suite wtih "Angela's Ashes and then Hymn to the Fallen (from Saving Private Ryan) and then Schindler's List.
Then the Wind Symphony joined back in for a suite from "Henry V".  It was absolutly AMAZING!  I LOVED it!

It was the 1st time D. H. tried something like this and i think it was a total success.

Went to the bridal show in Lynchburg w/ my parents on Sunday.  We've managed to plan out how the room is going to look and I may have found a cake baker, photographer and florist.  Now I just need to determine what i want for flowers.  :-/

Aaron and I went to dinner w/ his friend Ben and his gf Sunday night then went Bowling w/ Heather, Ken, Lou and Ken's gf.  An interesting nite to say the least.  Heather was pissed...Lou was fussy (well, not really, but i don't know how else to describe him)

I was not happy to drive back here Monday.  Did get my flute back from Aaron so now I can practice that too...and i need to practice guitar...and probably should squeeze violin in there...at least so i can finish my Kreutzer studies i've been working on for like 3years!

Had a bad day today...got observed by my principal...which is never a happy time.  Then i have a kid who dropped out of class, but didn't bother to tell me and another who NEVER remembers his instrument but still expects to continue...w/o even comign to class to see what he has to practice...not like he does so anyways grrrr

i'm going back to writing til my dinner is done..i actually cooked tonite!

applebees, wind symphony concert, bowling
