Question - me, chicago, IL, August 11, 2009, 10:55

I was trying to get an estimate of what it would cost to replace the timing belt on my car but timing belt replacement didn't appear in the list at the point where I would have filled it in (it is on the front page, but not available when a list of choices occurs after you have filled in your car make and model).

Your car is not equipped with a timing belt, but rather a timing chain. There is no recommended mileage to replace it. Unless the engine is very high mileage and is in relative good condition and well maintained the chain shouldn't need replacing. Drive on!
