I have a friend -- Baltimore native and avid Orioles fan -- who is all indignant on Facebook because Glavine got 91% and Mussina only 30-something.

Next year should be interesting: Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz, and Randy Johnson will all be up for the first time. Makes one wonder if any hitters will have a chance. And let's see what-his-name who wouldn't vote for anyone "from the steroid era" justify not voting for Johnson.

The article in the Boston Globe -- still provincial after all these years -- highlighted Glavine because he's a local lad, and kind of said "Oh, and Maddux and Thomas made it too".

well you might notice that i am more excited about the two who played in chicago ;-) .

i think that anyone who didn't vote for greg maddux should have his voting privileges revoked. and what did you think of that guy who farmed out his vote to deadspin readers?

Oh, he's clearly a whackjob, although he may have a point about the current process being flawed.

*i* consider maddux to be local. but that's 'cause he (and his brother, IIRC?) pitched in my hometown ballpark.
