Netflix is Awesome Sauce

The 40-Year Old Virgin (2005)
Adorable movie.  Very funny.  Steve Carell is amazing.  Too fucking funny.

Black Adder Season 1 (1983)
Mr Bean plays a nasty little bugger who tries to off his father so he can become king.  Very British, and very silly.  The theme song alone is enough to kill me dead.

" The sound of hoofbeats cross the glade,
Good folk, lock up your son and daughter,
Beware the deadly flashing blade,
Unless, you want to end up shorter,"

The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
Barf.  Glen Close plays a good bitch.  Otherwise the movie sucked balls.

Memoirs of a Geisha (2005)
Am annoyed that once again in a period, race-specific movie, they do not use an actor of the right nationality.  WTF.  Didn't follow the book far enough to my liking.  It was visually, a very pretty movie but then so was 300 and nice images aren't enough in my book to make up for what's lacking in story.

Rome Season 1 (2005)
*FLAILS*  OMG!  Why must this show be SO good?  Cesar and Antony and Octavian and Pullo and Lucius Vorenus!  My GOD are they hot, and by hot I mean HAWT!   Guh!  Amazing show that will suck you in and spit you out till you're hollow and sad.  Pullo and Lucius are straight up boyfriends like whoa.  I am very upset with this fandom because not enough people are writing fic for these two, though if you watch the show, you can kind of get by with the UST just on the SCREEN.  Lovely for its gore and military geektom.  Also, Brutus *prrrr*

An Inconvenient Truth (2006)
Keeps me up some nights.  We are all gonna die.

This Film Is Not Yet Rated (2006)
Wonderful and entertaining documentary.  It's amazing what film makers have to go through just to get their work out there.  And if you're an independent one, well you're pretty much fucked from the get go.  When you finally see why things are rated NC-17 (formally known as X) you'll see how deranged the ratings board really is.  That and the comparison for what a PG-13 is now to what it was 10 years ago.

Holiday Inn (1942)
I watch this movie every X-mas and I didn't get to last year.  It never sat right with me.  Fred Astaire is amazing and Bing Crosby and Ginger Rogers dress up in black face.  Hilarious racism and fun times for all.  I *heart* old movies.

Wordplay (2006)
A documentary about cross word puzzles.  Yes its odd.  Give it a chance, its really interesting.  Let it be known that Jon Stewart is the most aggressive cross word puzzler EVER.

Nanny McPhee (2006)
I LIKED this movie.  It was sweet and romantic and very simple.  Everything a children's movie should be while teaching them a little lesson.  I liked the fact that the "magic words" were in fact magic.  That and Emma Thompson can be in anything and I'll love it.

Penn & Teller's Magic and Mystery Tour (2003)
Documentary about cultural magic in places such as India, Egypt, and China.  Very interesting because each "episode's" focus is on a trick that is specific to that region (ex. Indian Rope Trick, Origins of the Cups and Balls trick, and . . .China which is in a whole world of its own).  I confess that my favorite part is when Penn gets on a camel's back and a various string of curses come flying out of his mouth while his neither region's get smashed.  Too fucking funny.  There is a bit of a gross-out fest in the Indian episode because their brand of 'magic' falls under "body mutilation."  That leads to an ick factor I can't really handle.  Still, very interesting.

Deliver Us From Evil (2006)
Documentary about a Catholic Priest and his history of child molestation.  Very sad and it made me sick in some parts.  Father O'Grady has no comprehension for what he had done.  It's insane.

Casablanca (1942)
I have this movie at home currently.  I put it on and then I fall asleep.  I have done this about 5 times now.  It's supposed to be a great movie and I really want to watch it because it's a cultural icon.  I suppose I'll try it again tonight.
Netflix is like my new live in boyfriend.  I love it so much.

movies!
