[Someone is being particularly lazy today.
Hope lies sprawled on the bed in his room, surrounded by complete mess, a sight not very common in his case. There's a couple of books, mostly biology-related, plus some papers and writing tools scattered on the floor.
For a while, he just stares at the ceiling, but as he rolls over to grab one of the pens

What are you working on?

[He's a bit better at dealing with those questions by now, but the blush is still there.]

...but he's wrong if he thinks he'll be allowed to take a peek.]
Alright. [He takes a deep sigh, looking pretty serious.] Actually, I'm writing a journal. To try to keep track of everything, in case... something happens.
Reply
Oh? That... is a wise move, actually. What inspired this?
[Just one peek?]
Reply
Nothing, really. I just found some papers and old notebooks, and, well... didn't want them to go to waste.
[Nu-uh. Not happening!]
Reply
I might have to follow your example. That way, if I ever leave and come back, I'd have some sort of semblance to what is going on. [Dear past self, why didn't I do this before?]
[But he's curious!]

I think that... there might have been some clues that got lost along the way, who knows. And theoretically, we could use the PCD to record such things, but --[He shrugs.]-- after all those tricks it's pulled on me, I... um, this wouldn't be the best idea, I guess.
[And the notes are well hidden!]
Reply
Yes, it would be a shame if vital information were to just vanish with the person... Perhaps someone should start an Adstringendum history record.
[He'll raise an eyebrow.] All the tricks it's pulled? [This guy is lucky enough to not have it turn on randomly... yet.] It would also be a poor idea if you were keeping any personal information in this journal. Hackers have a way of getting into those things. [Which Tieria would probably do. Maybe.]
[It'd mean more if you showed him!]

[He tilts his head, surprised by the question.] Um... accidental videos and stuff like that? A-And yeah, I've figured that much. Those devices might be multifunctional, but they're far from being perfect.
[But it's embarrassing!]
Reply
Really? [Like this one?] It's never happened to me... I just figured people were accidentally dropping it, or bumping a button. [Now he's eying the device questioningly.
[But he wants to know what you have to say~]
Reply
I used to think that, too, but, uh... this time it's been just... lying on the bed, and I'm pretty sure I didn't touch it. [A quiet groan.] Weird.
['Dear diary, today, I...' I MEAN, WHAT, NO]
Reply
Hm. Interesting. I wonder if it's the devices themselves, or a someone hacking the system. [But... that would mean someone was spying through the network...]
[Stop being adorable, Hope. Write anything good yet?]
Reply
H-hacking? [He didn't even consider such a possibility, but the very thought was frightening.] My bet is on the former... with all the things we've seen, this still seems rather, um... normal, don't you think?
[So you're really expecting a quality essay. Oh.]
Reply
Well... It is a mystery how we all came here... And we arrive with these devices... and never think to question that fact. Perhaps who ever gave us these is also looking through them.
But then again, some of the accidental posts are a touch ridiculous. [Why would they post that, anyway?]
[More like juicy details, and little facts. Hope's opinions~]

[Eeek. The answer is still never.]
