[The scene takes place in the little garden in the back of Willow -- and now, also Hope's house. Hope can be seen curled up, droplets of rain falling down on him, but the boy does not seem to be bothered by that in the slightest.]

Mom… I miss you. I -- I miss you s-so much, I can't… [His voice breaks into sobs, and when he lifts his face, it's clear ( Read more... )

[Kurisu has not seen the graves herself yet, only heard about them from other people so here comes her logical approach to this!]

If you saw your friends just a few days ago, there's no way your vision would be real... right? I mean... after a person dies, it takes a good few days to give them a proper burial, not even mentioning the gravestones...

[She forces a smile but it isn't really that honest. She isn't actually that sure of what she's talking about anymore.]

[Burial? Hope cringes at the word, as his mother never even...--]

It might n-not add up, but... nothing here does. [Pained, he grabs his head with his hands.] They... we will all... d-die.

[Kurisu doesn't have much experience with comforting adolescent boys like Hope but she will try]

Take a deep breath and do not let it get to you. I know it might be hard but you have to be strong. Death is unavoidable for all of us - [She pauses as her expression becomes more tense. Flashbacks of feelings she wasn't supposed to remember and memories of pain she theoretically never felt flow into her head.] - it is scary and it is painful. But we can't just waste our lives worrying about death, you know?

[It wasn't her intention to sound like she was quoting a philosopher, really!]

[Unfortunately, things do not get any better.]

What if there is only death? What if... what if there is nothing e-else to come back to?

[You'll have to excuse her for it - she's a neurobiologist, not a therapist.]

See, that's exactly what I meant - there's no point in living if you just waste it wondering about death. I wish I was able to explain it better... too bad he isn't here.

[Sigh. Getting the point to Hope is not the only reason she wishes that certain person was here.]

You just have to live your life in a way you won't regret... I mean... you get the point.

[Here comes Kurisu Coehlo over PCD airwaves to youuuu. She facepalms mentally at how her words sound.]

[Well. That sure sounds deep, but lost in his anguish, Hope can't quite appreciate that.]

I think I do, but... I wish it was this e-easy. [And it's definitely not easy if you suddenly learn that everyone close to you end up being dead.]

[Kurisu has kind of had enough of this - it became clear she wasn't able to help Hope as he was now and hearing her own words she had to admit, it wasn't so surprising.]

...uh, I guess? [She looks away from the PCD] Well, whatever you end up doing, please remember that you are still alive and therefore need to eat and stay warm.

[Anyone would have had enough, as he can be really troublesome at times.]

O-of course. I simply... need to think.
