Summary: He still couldn't touch her.
He lived for these little moments, when her eyes would sparkle with amusement at something he’d said, the haughty way she’d draw out his name when she was issuing her latest command, the way she’d reward him with a smile. The jokes that only she got, the secrets that only she knew.
These little moments were all he had, and they were no longer enough.
For so long, the thought of touching her had filled him with nothing but fear.
It didn’t matter that the fear was gone. He still couldn’t touch her.
She was in love with someone else.
