Lunch time on Friday

Apr 12, 2002 12:43

I'm on lunch. Kind of. Everyone at the office, with the exception of one lady, made a run for for the border. So I'm here, babysitting the phones.

Fortunately, they're bringing me food. Thai food at that. I'm pretty excited! But I'm starving in the mean time.

So, what's new in the life of Lee....
Not too much. I've been surfing before bed lately, which means I'm in bed much later than I should be. So I'm a little sleepy today.

And we're going to Dre and Maria's for dinner! I'm pretty excited about that. But the problem is this: (ok, there are a few problems - fortunately, they're all logistical, and thus, not REAL problems)
I am already downtown. Dre and Maria's place is about 5 -10 min from me.
I am planning to go straight over to them (maybe with a quick stop at Granville Island for a few things), but then Chris will come later, and we'll be stuck with 2 cars.
Problem 2: Doggies....We'd like to stay and consume silly-inducing quantities of alcohol with our buddies, but we can't do the overnight thing. It's just not right to keep Jessie confined to her crate for 12+ hours. So we'll have to go home. At least one of us anyway.
Problem 3: I am working tomorrow in Kerrisdale...which is about 15-20 min from Dre's place, and about an hour from mine.

It would make sense for me to go to Dre's after work, wait for chris, send him home around 2 am, then me stay over and go to work in the morning.
But I don't think we'll do that. I'm thinking we'll both go home.

The main variable is drinking. If I go home first, then one of us can drink lots. If not, then we can only have a glass of wine or so at dinner.

Maybe that's what we'll do. Being rather tired, I'm not in party mode right now. Mind you, it's only 12:30. At 5 it may be a different story. Or I can drink at 5 and just end early. But I hate doing that...you just never know. If i'm going to drive at all, I would only risk 1 glass of wine with dinner. And drive a number of hours later.

So that's the plan metinks.

Vancouver is overcast today, low ceiling, high of about 13 degrees. Not raining, but possiblity of precipitation.

I can see the downtown core from my window, but not the mountains.

That's my 411 for now.
