Who: Gabe and Dakota.
Where: London, England.

Gabe had no idea how he got himself in this situation. Okay, yes he did. Hana nagged him constantly about watching Yale and Harvard play polo in London. As if Gabe really gave a fuck about Yale and Harvard. It wasn't like he was going to Yale. Gabe didn't even care that his family was an alumni family. He really doubted that Hana could even get in the game. The worst part of this trip wasn't being the chaperon of two teenage girls, but not being able to spend his summer vacation with his girlfriend that he rarely saw. Stella must've been back from Mexico by now. She was spending this week at New Jersey with her mother. Really, the long distance hurt their relationship more than they liked to admit. Gabe missed her so, so much. He couldn't believe that a person could have such longing for another. Apparently, it was possible. Yet now rather than going out on a date with Stella, he was sitting on the curb of a fish and chip's stand, waiting for Hana and Dakota to finishing shopping while smoking a Marbolo light. It was extremely hot outside, and Gabe really wanted to get some ice cream. He took a puff of his cigarette, his actions well practiced. Man, how long do girls shop? He thought, running his free hand through his hair. England was such a weird country. They spoke with weird Harry Potter accents that made Gabe misinterpret what they actually meant. Not to mention how converting American dollars to English pounds was a pain in the ass. Gabe wished that they could just stay in the hotel for the whole day with the AC cranked up high. But Hana had some tiring schedule planned and things she wanted to do. It was her birthday week, so Gabe folded easily. Not to mention he was in charge of the two girl's safety while here.

Gabe was on his third cigarette when he spotted Dakota moving his way, which meant he had a lot on his mind. Usually it was stress related things - things that made him worry too much. Recently it was Stella, if anything else. It wasn't because he was worried about their relationship, but worried about her herself. He knew that Stella lived fine before him, so it was just a stupid kind some protectiveness over her. At times Gabe treated her like a child. When Gabe flashed back to reality, Dakota was standing before him. Gabe blinked twice, surprised, before smiling slightly. "Hey, kid. Where's Hana?" Gabe asked, though he didn't really care where his cousin was. By now all he wanted to do was leave. She was probably still shopping, so she'd be fine. He lifted the pack of cigarettes, asking her if she wanted one. He forgot whether or not she quit smoking, but he knew that she smoked. Gabe's own cigarette dangled from his fingers. He liked watching the red tip burn. It amused him. Gabe moved over so Dakota could sit beside him. "What's up?" He looked behind him, at the stand. "Hungry?"
