Who: Jesse and Stella
Where: Sports field
When: Late afternoon

Jesse had been about three or four chapters away from finishing the book Dakota had leant and suggested to him - Palahniuk's Choke, and she'd done a good job, considering he wasn't the easiest to please, and he'd been insanely into it just a few chapters in - when his IM had gone off over at his desk. He'd put down Dakota's book to check who it was, and since it was Stella, one of his best (read: craziest) friends, they'd ended up talking, and he'd ended up agreeing to teach her to play baseball and football. Despite his want to finish Dakota's book, so he'd be able to talk to her about it, but he figured he'd have time when he got back. So grabbing his jacket, since it'd probably be kind of late by the time they were finished, and since he wanted to start with his preferred of the two, his baseball bat, ball, and glove, he headed out to go meet her.

It was late enough in the afternoon that most people were back in their dorms by now, so as soon as the sports field came into view, so did Stella's pretty much lone figure; if you didn't count the group of freshman sitting by one of the trees who seemed to be flipping through teen magazines and probably gossiping or whispering blow job techniques to one another. How these people managed to find any kind of fufilment in their life was a mystery to Jesse. Not that his was all that fufilling either, but it was a step (or ten) up, at least. Making his way over to Stella, he prodded her knee lightly with the bat when he was close enough. "Hey. Ready?" Quick and to the point. But she shouldn't be expecting anything else from him after knowing him for so long. Well, not that it was that long, but they did have three classes together a day. One or two more classes, and she hadn't been dating Gabe, he might've been freaked out. Would've been, actually. And nope, he lied. She might've been expecting sarcasm from him also, but there was sometimes just the odd occasion where he failed to deliver. But hey, he was teaching her to play baseball for the first time. He'd be more than making up for it soon. Slinging his arm around her shoulder briefly to turn and lead her towards the middle of the field, he dropped it back by his side and walked casually beside her. Then, when he was happy with where they were, he stopped in his tracks, dropping the ball and glove to the ground, swinging the bat around lazily with one arm. "So, tell me everything you know about baseball so far," he started, already expecting her to lead them off topic somehow.
