Who: BIRTHDAY GIRLS Cam and Lia, Ellie, and Gabe
Where: Pretty much all of this is taking place in Camryn and Ellie’s dorm.
Oh and the posting order can just be whatever, it doesn’t really matter.

Today had been fabulous. It was Camryn and Lia’s seventeenth birthday, and so Camryn had a ton of presents to open throughout the day (which was secretly the most amazing thing ever, even though it seemed to be so greedy) and both of her classes that she had had exams in, the entire class sang happy birthday to her. And even though she blushed and acted like she was totally embarrassed at the attention, she really did like it. And the best part was that she and Gabe made up! They hadn’t even really talked about the whole not being friends for a few days, just kind of pretended that it didn’t happen. Which, honestly, Camryn wasn’t opposed too or anything. She had gotten dressed really quickly that morning, having pulled together a special birthday outfit like she always did, and her entire day had gone really well. When her exams were over, she put away the gifts she had accumulated throughout the day, then met up with Gabe and Ellie to go rent movies for tonight.

“Let’s goooo!” Camryn flipped the child lock on the door before Gabe could even finish parking, jumping out just as he came to a stop and hurrying to the Blockbuster. She scanned the titles of the movies on display, feeling like an excited little puppy. She was in constant motion, not able to even stand still, running all over and grabbing movie after movie. It must have been a combination of a sugar high and a high from just being friends with Gabe again. She had like five movies in her arms when she finally gave up to find Gabe. He dumped about three new flicks in Ellie’s arms, and they decided that eight was an adequate amount. On their way up to the counter, Camryn remembered Lia’s request. “Shoot, Lia wanted Hostel!” She was about to go and get it when Gabe offered to do it while she got herself rung up, which Camryn was thankful for. She and Ellie dropped the movies on the checkout counter, then scanned the snackage options. They grabbed like ten different boxes of candies - everything ranging from Milk Duds to Sour Skittles to Gummy Bears - and a couple of packets of microwaveable popcorn, and a pack of red bull for Gabe - adding it to the pile. Gabe returned with the movie, and once Cam was given her total, she whipped out her credit card that her mom had given her for “special occasions” (aka she used it all the time) was when it happened. The cashier asked for her id. Camryn grinned pulling it out and proudly showing it to him. His eye went from the little plastic card, to her face, scrutinizing her colorful scarf and gloves, her baby cheeks that Camryn hated, then looking at the id again, probably deciding if he thought it was legit enough. Finally, he gave in and rang them up, and once they got their movies and snacks, the three left the store, Camryn giddy from that entire exchange.

The drive back to school was shorter then it usually was, probably because Gabe’s driving was a little on the maniac side without Camryn caring enough to tell him to slow down. She was just too excited to chastise him. When they found a parking spot, they hurried up to the dorm that Ellie and Camryn shared, probably looking crazy laughing at nothing at all and pretty much running to the upperclassmen dorms. When they got there, Gabe was on popcorn duty while Ellie and Camryn stripped their beds, pulling all the blankets and pillows onto the ground so it was more comfortable. Just as they were finishing up, there was an enthusiastic knock on the door and Camryn hurried over to yank it open, enveloping her sister in a huge hug. “HAPPY BIRTHDAYYY!” She squealed, feeling a huge relief run through her. It was so weird that they hadn’t spent all of today together and that this was legit the first time they even saw each other today. Camryn hated how much they drifted - hopefully tonight would help change that.
