[author's notes] So I was in Guadalajara, and one of the conferences was so boring, that I took my pen and a piece of paper and wrote this. It's the first of five ficlets I've written during my trip to Guadalajara in the beginning of May. I hope you enjoy this!

Your mind is racing a mile a second as he walks away. There have been no tears, no endless promises of phone calls that will never be made, no love declarations that will end up in broken mirages. Only you and him, and the sun breaking the day into a bright moment.

You watch his retreating form stepping away to take the van that will leave him to his first nationwide tour on his own. You can't stop yourself from fishing your cell out of your pocket and dialing his number; the all too familiar voice inviting you to leave a message.

I miss you already, you mumble.

Your only hope is that your beating heart doesn't end up bleeding like your tattooed heart by the end of tour of his.
