[disclaimer] I don't own nor have ever met Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Neal Tiemann nor Andy Skib. Everything about them is completely fiction, and any similarity with reality is a mere coincidence. I do not own Kris Allen's I Need To Know either.
[warning(s)] Angst. A flaily Adam.

yehwellwhatever who asked for Andy and Kris being college roommates, Andy being dumped by his girlfriend and Kris comforting him over at Twitter. This is the second part on what's now a three-parts fic. I hope you like it!
<< Breathe Under Water Adam is nowhere to be found when Kris needs him. He has looked everywhere, but Adam is still missing in action. Kris doesn't even want to know where he could be on a fine Sunday morning, because the answer to that simple question could turn Kris' world upside down and frankly he isn't sure he can take the overload of information on how amazing Adam's latest bed partner has been. Kris doesn't need to be reminded of his own lack of action as of lately.
He chooses to stroll around the campus in nothing but his plaid shirt and his worn out jeans. He forgot to take his jacket with him when he stomped out of his room, but he wasn't thinking straight back then. All he wanted to do was get as far away from Andy as he could, since he was an inch away of throwing all responsibility out of the window and attacking his friend right then and there, during his lowest hour. Kris knows better than to jeopardize his already unstable relationship with Andy, which is like a rollercoaster of emotions as far as Kris is concerned - first, when Jennye had been around, she would always make Andy choose between spending time with her or with Kris instead of trying to adapt and offer the option of them three hanging out; then, when the evil girlfriend had finally left Andy, Kris had been relegated to the third or fourth shoulder Andy would go to cry on, which was really unsatisfying for Kris, since he'd thought he was Andy's best friend.
Kris finally settles for sitting at the spot where he met Adam, almost two years ago, under the only willow tree in the whole university campus. He fiddles with his phone to have something in his hands. His fingers itch at the contact. He sighs loudly.
"What's with the down face?" he hears at his back. He startles before turning around and facing Adam.
"What the actual--? Whatever, Adam," Kris says, tucking his phone into his pocket. "I tried calling you, but you weren't answering the phone."
"Well, I was busy," Adam laughs as he sits down beside him. "But I'm not anymore. Tell me, what's going on? It's not like you to call me at this ungodly hour on a Sunday morning."
Kris doesn't know where to start, so he fumbles with the words that don't actually make sense, not even inside his head. He bites his lower lip and stops before he makes a fool of himself.
"I take it has to do with Andy again," Adam points out. "That's why you aren't wearing any jacket, I suppose."
"Well-"
"Don't try to deny it, Kris. I know you. And I know him," Adam shakes his head before throwing an arm around Kris' shoulders. "And I may have been talking to Neal for a while."
Kris' head snaps up to meet Adam's navy blue gaze. He snickers despite his troubled soul. "You mean you've been shacking up with him for a while, right," he deadpans. Adam blushes under the foundation he is still wearing, even though it's cracking at the edges and showing Adam's freckles. "I'm happy for you, dude. I really am."
"I know you are," Adam tugs at him until Kris is pressed impossibly close to his side, until Kris is mashed against the leather Adam is wearing. "I have you to thank, though. Without you, I would have never met Neal."
Kris shrugs. He knows it was mostly his fault that the two met around three months prior, when he had appeared at one of Andy's band rehearsals with Adam hot on his tail. And though he is actually glad his friend has found something dangerously similar to love, he can't help but wonder what he has done to deserve the solitude he lives through every single day.
"And because of that," Adam continues. "Because of that, Kris, I am returning the favor. We're going to dress you up and you're going to have an awesome time tonight."
"What are you on, Adam?" Kris asks suspiciously. He even has one of his eyebrows quirked, exactly the way he raises it whenever he suspects Adam is up to something.
"Neal and I, we've decided you need to start dating so you can stop mourning Andy, you know. So, we've got you this amazing date tonight, and you're going to enjoy it!"
"Adam," Kris whines before being pulled up and dragged all over the gravel path. "When did you set up the date?"
"Uhm, Neal kinda told me last night," Adam replied, unrepentant. "And we've made reservations at a cool restaurant for tonight. C'mon, we only have a little time!"
"It's morning," Kris whines, even though he knows it's to no avail since Adam always gets his way with him.
"As I said, very little time!" Adam exclaims as he practically runs to his own building, Kris in tow.
