Who wants to play New World with me?
I had a really cool time tonight at Mrs. Mauney's house, I played for her, and she said my technique and form were looking really good, but I'm tensing my shoulder again, she sees it, I can feel it. Then I played some Brandenburg for her, getting critism at the end, it was just plain awesome. And we talked about school, we talked about the future, we talked about old groups like Elite Strings and orchestra. I told her my summer plans, asked for summer suggestions, told her my college dreams, talked about classes and ended up on a tangent for 30 minutes about my science projects I did. Mrs. Mauney thinks Berklee is a very good idea. This makes me very happy. That she saw changes in my playing, that I can hear them (she played me a tape from each year she's taught me, and a tape from my last lesson), that she can hear them, this is what matters. I feel more confident in my aspirations right now. If anyone up in govie-land wants to play New-World Symphony in April on Hilton Head with the Hilton Head Youth Orchestra and Oberlin and me, let me know. Mrs. Mauney said she'd be delighted to have people. Just don't tell any teachers at school. SHHH. yes. I must be going now, I have no idea why but yeah
