Somehow, despite the fact that I haven't had a proper night's sleep all week and feel like I'm about to die, I'm in an irrepressibly good mood! Reasons why:
So, enough about how awesome I am. For those of you in the US, are you voting for/supporting any particular candidate? I think part of the reason I'm getting more excited for this election than I ever have before is because we really have a good selection of candidates. At this point, I'm firmly supporting Clinton, but would support Obama if he got the nomination, and while I wouldn't be incredibly happy, I at least wouldn't be ridiculously pissed off if McCain won, because even if I don't often agree with him I at least generally respect him, which is a step up. So, tell me your opinions, I'm terribly interested to hear what others think!
- Got to see Gloria Steinem speak last night at the student center! She's just generally an amazing person not to mention such an important cultural figure, it was so cool to see her in person. Plus, she totally makes me want to have that poster of her as a playboy bunny that Rory and Paris had in their dorm room. Plus, she seemed to help me fire up this weird budding political activism spirit I had latent somewhere in me, and has made me excited to be able to cast my very first ballot when my state's primary happens next week (albeit through the mail, which isn't as much fun)
- I got the summer internship at the museum here on campus that I was just dying to have! It's such a relief to have at least one plan finalized, and because it's here moving my stuff will be infinitely easier than it would have been otherwise, haha. My boss also told me she's really excited I got it as well because she wants to work with me longer, how cute is that?
- And then she told me she didn't have much for me to do today so I have the afternoon off! Which means I finally get to watch Torchwood!
- I met with my adviser today and she told me that one of my other professors said that my first thesis chapter, which I turned in at the end of last semester, was the best mid-year chapter she'd ever read. She's been teaching here for 20 some years, so that is such an honor.
- And Supernatural tonight!!!!
