Beedle the Bard!!!!

OK folks...I broke down and read Beedle last night...I was trying to go slow and savor it, but OH MY GOD I COULDN'T. It was just TOO MUCH FUN to have more JKR to read again. I really have missed her voice so.

I will admit, I distinctly missed the trio, but I was nice to have Dumbledore's wit and wisdom back again. I think, the main reason I love this book SO MUCH though is that it really is a peek into the history and folklore of "wizarding culture", and that just makes the geek in me deleriously happy.

I mean, I love Harry Potter for it's story and the characters of course, but to be honest the reason I deeply love this series so much is the depth of the WORLD that JKR has created. It's a whole society with rules and cultural norms, folk lore and laws and history, and all of it is so believable and logical in it's own odd little way....GAH! SO MUCH LOVE!

I just love all the little notes and bits of history and magical fact that Dumbledore drops, and I really enjoyed reading "Babbity Rabbit" knowing that it's Ron's favorite story. I also LOL'd that Beedle was at one time a "banned book" (I see what you did thar JKR!) It's all very cute and clever and satisfying..

I have also decided that in my own personal cannon, Hermione decided to translate Beedle and compile Dumbledore's notes on the subject, when she found out she was preggers with Rose...so her first child would have a proper version of the fables by the time she was born. (<--HO HO I AM A DORK)

Gahhhh now I want to read R/Hr fulff more then EVAR!!!
