Well, if you haven't noticed in my Saturday Post I am now 43 years going on this blue marble of a planet. Waking up to a rather chilly and wet day too...
The weekend was a bit hectic, but fun. I started my Saturday packing for my Paris trip. I think I managed everything fine in my suitcase. I'll live by my mom's philosphy- "If you forgot it here, buy it there".
After laundry and packing I headed out to LA for the final LAboL meeting of the year. The whole 4 of us managed to get thru everything just fine. The club will have a few changes for next year, but it's all for the good and we're still going to be around.
The meeting ended and we all went to The Stinking Rose for dinner... MMMM-MMMM-Garlic! I had the garlic meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and ended with garlic ice cream! Needless to say, we were all stinkers that eve.
Sunday morning was just quiet and breakfast with Nick. We had our evening planned to be in LA to finally see "Mary Poppins" at the Ahmanson. I have to say, the show was fun and had clever 'tricks'!
Our view:
We had 4th row center Mezz seats and just let the evening be filled with fun. The end of the show included Ms. Poppins 'flying' up off the stage and then up and over the audience clear up to the top balcony! She almost flew directly over us where we were sitting.
After the show they had a special silent auction and special announcement from the cast for the "Broadway Cares" benefit of AIDS services. It was really touching and nice to see how people were very giving. I gave a donation to one of the cast outside in the lobby and got this picture with her:
This was the Banks' cook, Mrs. Brill.
And here are a few of the holiday lights outside the theatre...
So, this year's birthday was most fun compared to last years at home, post-hospital.
Now only 4 days until we fly out to Paris!!!
