And how stupid am I that I didn't even mention the fact that my school amost got burned down in the blaze? I'm at the 'rents now, and I'm not exactly sure if everything is okay or not back in school. All I keep hearing is about how Malibu has been burned to the ground, but my friend Sara said Pep hasn't been touched. It's really pretty scary. My godfather's down here too because basically all of Malibu was evacuated, and he can't find out if his house is safe or not. I told him he's lucky because he has full insurance and enough money to replace anything that's damaged unlike the poor people who have lost everything, and he laughed and told me I was a silly liberal, which is funny because he's a democrat too. Then M and D told me not to talk about money because it's rude and I said I wasn't (because I wasn't), and then we all agreed that it was better for rich people's houses to burn down than poor people's, even though my gf said, "Any rich person but me." Kind of a funny conversation. I don't think it would have happened if they hadn't all been drinking.
It's gotten to Irving, which isn't really by our house. I think it's 30% contained over here now, but it's definetely scary. Dad and GF are planning to build a moat as we speak (yeah, they didn't stop drinking when I left the room). I think I'm going to call Nate and see if he's home. Maybe he'll sneak me out of the house like old times and we can go try to see the fire. Mom wouldn't have too much of a coronary, right?
