I can be really self-centered sometimes. A guy has a problem he doesn't want to tell me about and part of me assumes it's about me. Gosh. That's human nature, though. Annie Dillard. So I shouldn't assume. Plus it has to do with the guy himself which makes me think that. Friends with problems.

It's like what that man at the FBI Academy said. People like talking about themselves. Be a 'great conversationalist'? Let them talk the entire time (likely about themselves) while you ask the occasioned query.
