Job shocker...
One of the guys above me was fired on Friday. I've been offered a promotion which will get me $5000 more a year right away with a potential for more (that's about $2 more an hour), a company car, gas card, PM money for the car, a new cell phone, and new laptop that will include WiFi. Basically I would be adding just a couple more duties to my work load now. There are 3 phases to this promotion; this being the first one. I'll be travelling a lot more too.
The lack of benefits still suck and the company insurance sucks as well. Far too expensive for what I'd be purchasing. The company pays nothing for insurance. Huh.
So, I'm going to take the promotion even though the above isn't the best. I have no plans to keep this job forever so I can live with those problems for the short term. I'm thinking I'll stick with this place for maybe a year unless they shell out an enormous amount of money with the next promotional phase. Yes, I am now a mercenary chick. Who woulda thought?
