It was about time for an update, and I should be doing other stuff, so I figured this was the perfect way to procrastinate!
First of all, I never mentioned how my date went. Probably because it wasn't all that great, but anyway - we went out ot eat, then mini golf and bowling. Fun night, but that's about all it had going for it. The guy is very much stuck in the past, even though he said he was past all of his adventures. The whole night, I was thinking to myself that if he was past it, why keep talking about it? So that's that.
Two weekends ago I was at Eastern! It was the first home FB game, which we lost, so that sucked... But I had a blast seeing everybody. I miss y'all!! Took some pictures, but I'm not as photo-frenzied as my mom is, (yet), so I only had around 20. I sent the good ones up to Amanda Blair, so ask her to see them! It was a good trip, and I'm hoping to go up for homecoming weekend as well. That's the same weekend as my brother's last HS competition, which is at U of I. I really wanted to go to that, though the game and the performance are probably around the same time. Figures.
Guess who was at the last regular season game at Busch Stadium?!?! ME!!! It was amazing!! I'm not that big of a baseball fan, but if I root for anybody, it would of course be the Cards - I practically live in St. Louis, you know. My dad's work has 8 season tickets, and they had two extra seats this time around, so both me and my brother got to go. I tell you what - the National Anthem has never brought tears to my eyes before. But when I heard it on Sunday, with everybody in the stands singing it... oh my. I'm getting chills now just thinking about it! And then at the end, when they brought out all those former players, then the clidesdales pulling the beer wagon... It was a sight to see!! I don't know about all you people out there, but I personally love Busch Stadium. It has a very unique structure, and it is part of what makes St. Louis. The new stadium, while it looks nice, just isn't all that great. It's all red brick, so it looks fancy. But there isn't any architectural design to it - it just looks like a cookie-cutter stadium. And there are less seats, too!! Why would they do that?!
I know this is a very random update - has to be, since I've put it off for so long. But just one more little tidbit. Friday night, my family went out for dinner at Red Lobster. (Cheddar Bay Biscuits!!) Our waiter took our drink order, and I noticed that he was looking at me kinda funny...only when he walked away and I saw that his name was Todd, did I realize that he was in my HS class. Not exactly a friend, either. He was really stuck up, (or so I thought), walking around the school like he was a big-shot. I don't think we even spoke three words to each other in 4 or more years of school together. And here he was, our waiter. Once he figured out who I was, he was actually pretty talkative. Not to me directly, but still. Oh, the irony!
This weekend is the competition at SIUC, which we'll probably go to - I always liked that one. And I want to have a bonfire sometime this month, before it gets too cold out. Well, that probably won't be a problem - it's gonna be in the 90's today! So anyway, when I do, anybody from EIU is welcome too! We have plenty of room here!!
