Houston et al...

So I went to Houston for vacation, it rained a lot, it was hot, and we swam in a pool. Oh, and we visited NASA, Kemah, and Galveston. Only saw three cowboys, two were younger than me by at least three years, and the third was at least three times my age! They did know a thing or two about training horses though, which was rather interesting. All in all, it was a fun vacation. I got to spend time with relatives I never had spent time with before, and now I know that I never want to live in Texas. Too damn hot. Cold weather for Amanda, thank-you!

Yesterday I went to Raging Rivers with Danielle and friends. I hadn't been there in years, and there really aren't that many slides etc..., but it was a fun day nonetheless. I used sunscreen religiously, though I didn't get the top of my head in time. However, I'm more tan than I have been in many many years. Just don't look at the back of my legs - they are still white!

Been doing some job searching. I'm not finding too much, though the job market looks like it might be getting better.

Not much else to update on, since nothing much exciting happens around here. We had our county fair last week, so I spent most of the week out there helping my Grandma. She's one of the directors, so I was "Vera's Granddaughter" the whole week. I've realized long ago that as long as I'm in Waterloo, or in Monroe County for that matter, I'm only going to be somebody's daughter, or niece, or whatever. Never just Amanda. Sometimes that's a good thing, because people know your family, and they will be more prone to trust you. But that's not good enough for me. I want to be known for being Amanda, too. That's not such a selfish request, is it?

Tonight I have read from my book, and just before sitting down here I soaked for a long time in the tub. Walking around barefoot at Raging Rivers took its toll on my legs and feet! My sister, (bless her heart), let Dad buy her computer since she just bought herself a laptop. Which means we now have a two-year old computer to work with. Never mind the fact that Dad bought her the computer for her high school graduation, only to buy it back two years later! Yes, the old enmity against my sister still exists. I won't go into a tirade, however, because I'm sure nobody wants to hear me complain. So I will say good night, and I hope to see some of you very very soon. I'm still unsure when I can make my get-away, but still plotting, don't you worry! I miss everybody!!!
